He’s not better, it’s just narrative. He’s maybe more reliable, but actually ability I don’t see it.

KD has longevity on his side, and by a big margin. I'm not ready to give Kawih the same weight RS wise when he misses 20 + games at least or entire regular seasons.
He's also a better scorer than Kawih, and I'll say he's not a worse playmaker or rebounder. On defense Kawih is better, but it's not like KD is a negative or something.
For all those reasons I'd say KD > Kawih, even if the margin is not big.
