Why do people hate on 2017 durant solely because he wasnt the engine of their offense

I agree that there are still questions on how durant handles playoff defenses with a goat team supporting him, mostly because of his lack of playmaking that has tbf looked better recent years but its justified people have doubts for that

Otoh like it feels like people dont give him credit for having one of the top 10 best scoring postseasons ever lol, and its mostly based off the idea curry game him a million open looks as if offenses dont always give their superstars a few open looks, which tbf the okc offense iirc didnt really do very well

Curry obv helped with his effeciency but the amount people dont credit him for his genuine ATG level scoring that run sometimes is crazy lol. The warriors offense didnt use him as an iso 24/7 guy because their offense doesnt run like that and that helps their effeciency. That being said theres value in being able to score in multiple different ways to fit an offense

KD is probably THE most versatile scorer ever in terms of being able to score in different roles an an elite level, its just his playmaking isnt up to par so its hard to see if a typical heliocentric offense with him can succeed as much as the other tier 1 half court wing scorers that impacted through iso scoring could, but when you realize that list is jordan and kobe (you guys all know how high i am on kobe tbf, so keep in mind when i say kobe i have a 1C offensive skillset guy in my head :P) its like, i mean maybe its a function of a poor system for him in okc and brooks not being a great playoff coach as well.

Idt its a landslide or anything, barkleys like the most effecient post scorer ever recorded or something crazy like that, but i cant seriously see myself considering barkley even if he was more impactful at his time to build around

Because he didn't do it when he was in OKC so it's hard to give him full credit when he was in a unique situation. Both he and Curry clearly benefited from eachother that postseason. It was the least amount of pressure I've ever seen a team face in terms of the their competition.

It was like the whole year including the playoffs was a regular season.
