I get it, he probably doesn't consider Magic, Curry, West, Oscar true PGs in the same sense. And CP3 is still playing (and was about a decade+ younger than Nash) so he's also not considered.

So yes "Stockton is the greatest PG of all time"*****

That's an angle I hadn't considered, actually, good thought!

Even if we restrict it to "traditional" (a pretty useless distinction) smaller sized point guards i dont see how he compares well to chris paul, who is pretty damn ahead as a scorer while turning the ball over less or steve nash himself (a much superior scorer with much more ability to create easy buckets)

His playmaking value is not a turnover ball protection outlier the way paul is or as valuable in the kind of advantages created as nash, feels like longevity/durability + raw assist total are doing a lot of heavy lifting with him

Had the peaks project not gone to die to the same graveyard as the epstein list i dont even know if he would make my top 50 for peaks

Or, he thinks that in terms of the skillset and mental mind set, Stockton was better at the point guard skills than they were (ignoring issues like volume scoring, rebounding, etc.). I think everyone considers Oscar a PG, Magic a PG even if he was used as a SG early on, West the same but not as universally accepted, probably even Curry but they all were much more scoring focused.
