Not sure how Kareem would translate to today. I’m very confident he’d be a great player, but I’m not sure he’d be as great as he was in his own era. We know Magic and Kareem fit really well together, though, and it’d probably be quite a lot better than it was on the Lakers, because Magic would get to play with peak Kareem.

On the other side of things, I actually think LeBron and Bird would fit really well. Bird doesn’t need to ball all that much, so there wouldn’t really be too many cooks in the kitchen on that front. And Bird also spaces the floor and could be slotted in at PF, and that kind of spacing is great for LeBron.

Would probably take LeBron/Bird because I’m more certain of their translation to this era, but the high-end possibility for how good Magic/peak-Kareem would be is probably even higher than LeBron/Bird (in part since I think Bird is not quite as good as the other guys here).
