i dont think bynum nor roy is overrated...the fans may be hyping them BECAUSE....THEY ARE one of the main reasons for their teams success.

o ya... they are some of the reason's for their team's success... but does that merit Laker fans thinking Bynum is the next Shaq or Wilt?

I AGREE

Jason Kidd is not overrated. but since you think Kidd and Duncan
are overrated you must hate player who do the intangibles.
intangibles often separate the great players from the rest.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

13ppg on 63%, 10rpg, 2blks in under 29 minutes.

Averaging those numbers in under 30 per game is insane for a 20 year old. He may be "overrated" this year, because following up on the hype can be tough, but give him two years, and you'll see a center who rivals Dwight Howard.

I guarantee it.

I don't see how posters are say that Bynum and Roy are overrated. The Lakers are tied for the best record in the Western Confrence. Bynum gets a lot of press because the Lakers are significantly better this year than they were last year and he is the primary reason for the improvement. Roy is also the leader of a team that has won 17 of 18 games, and is the unquestioned leader for the team. Give credit where credit is due.

D-Wade has easily been the most overrated player this year. It's easy to argue that the Heat are the worst team in the league. The Mavericks poor defense in the 2006 finals have immortalized Wade when he's really not in the class of James, or Melo.

The people that are saying that Brandon Roy is overrated-- are people that have not seen him play, saw him last season or at the very most just seen ESPN highlights or one game this season. Brandon Roy is a top 10-12 guard in the league-- at least. Even Magic went so far as saying that Roy is a top 3 player in the league right now. Roy might not put up the most stats but he Really effects the game on both ends of the court and he is a real leader.

Get league pass and watch some games people.

Bynum is the most overrated player in this forum. He hardly has any skills and really plays off of Kobe and rides his coat-tails.

What's so impressive about 19/4/5? Several players have had MUCH better seasons but didn't get this hype, and many people are having better years than him so far. For instance, Elton Brand averaged 20/10/2 on ~57% FG% for multiple years but didn't get any love. Baron Davis averaged 21/5/8/2 last year for a long stretch of the season, and didn't make anything. So why should someone who is 19/4/5 and not top 30 in any stat?

Case in point right here. You haven't seen him play. Maybe one game? Doubt it though.

So you think he's a top 10-12 gaurd, and Magic says he's a top 3 player in the league, and that's not overating him how?

To be fair Magic never said top 3, he said 3rd most complete. As in there are no holes in his game. Sure Lebron is better than Roy, but Lebron is a poor outside shooter.
