I thought a lot about taking Curry as my first pick. The problem for me was I thought he'd be too polarizing. People are far more familiar with his flaws and tend to blow them out of proportion since they know him better. Even if Bord has similar issues, they tend to be glossed over with time.

Obviously Green is even more polarizing than Curry. The hint is though I don't think anyone really argues anymore that he doesn't have best in the world impact, I think they just argue he wouldn't be able to do it without being surrounded by all time talent. Fortunately on this team he will be surrounded by all time talent. So I'm hoping I can keep people honest here and people can project how great he'd be on a team like this.

I also love the fit between he and Bird both basketball-ly and culturally. There was a fantastic Arnovitz article about the Warriors culture recently and how Dray is the biggest part of it that was really great.

If the goal is to win above all else, you definitely have good points with respect to Curry / Green. I drafted two polarizing players as well. We simply have to make the fit work and have faith in the judges. If not, doing the draft is fun anyways.

This is where things get really fun. Pretty much all of the duos so far will be good, picking the third and fourth players is what will diffrentiate the best from the rest.

Wilt and Barkley, Magic and Karl, wow. :o Dealing with '67 Chamberlain and peak Barkley will be a nightmare, because I don't think anybody will have as good of a frontcourt duo as that (fit, athleticism and rebounding is awesome with that duo).

Dirk and Durant is nasty, too. Trying to guard them will be just about impossible. You would need two super elite defensive forwards to slow them down, I have a feeling that one of those guys will have a fairly easy time dominating regardless of matchup, because I doubt anybody will have two all-time great defenders at forward spots.

I'm a big fan of Garnett/West and Curry/Wade, too. Especially Garnett/West. Two-way play and intensity of that duo, man...It's quite similar to my D-Rob/Oscar duo.

I think the issue with people picking only bigs or only guards with their first two picks is that the rest of their team is going to suffer due to both lack of players available as well as FGA available.

Thanks. Grabbing Barkley is a blessing and a curse. There is a reason he was still available. He is a sensitive player to build around. Fortunately, I am a huge Barkley fan and I fell into an ideal pairing with he and Wilt.

Lebron James? Kobe Bryant? Steph Curry? Dwyane Wade? Jerry West? Oscar?

I dunno seems ok to me. Especially with the GOAT.

I guess the Westbrook/ Harden playoff flameouts have you a little reserved on the topic? Generally speaking you want your best guard to be the lead ball handler and shoot a lot.

Pretty sure the window was reduced to 5 hours but now that I think about it, it's probably 10 hours for a double pick. May have jumped the gun on this one.

That makes no sense at all. It really shouldn't matter how many picks you have to make - if you are around for one pick, then why wouldn't you make two?

By the way - I like the small windows we're using on Trades and Transactions board, much better than the 5-6 hours here. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, as a T & T regular yourself.

Agreed, would also like to see smaller windows in this draft. It's probably taking a little longer than most of us had hoped for

Sorry Q I missed that part in the initial quote. We use 2 hours windows and turn the clock off overnight (usually 12-8 EST.)

It has been working pretty well, especially when people PM lists ahead of time.

Yeah, I went crazy. I'm definitely going for preference + fit over overall talent.

Does the clock for this game get turned off overnight? I've played so many games on the T&T board I just assumed it was.

Not here no. But I would be down for a 3 hour clock which gets turned off 12-8 EST.

Please comment on this if it works for everyone here.
