Lol getting 2018 Cavs vibes from these comments lol. They're gonna blow this s*** up come All-Star break. LeBron only stays loyal to other "stars" that f*** up his game for so long. Gonna take a miracle for us to see ring #5 on that finger, much less a WCF berth the way their most important acquisition will be.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

5-15 from the field and 9 turnovers in what is supposedly a "good" game for Westbrook. Gonna be a long season.

If both AD and LBJ need a particular 3 and D roster to put up pretty numbers than maybe they both are not the top 5-10 players, similar criticism for Harden and Durant who are currently stinking up the joint.

Memphis had 18 offensive rebounds a game after Phoenix outscored La in the paint like 35-5 or something. Those 2 things almost never happened the past 2 seasons

They just need players not to get in the way. James played 14 minutes with DAJ clogging everything and Westbrook’s man not guarding him at the 3 point line. Then Westbrook blew a bunch of coverages as did DAJ. Lakers dominated the last two years with James+AD and role players. Replace Westbrook right now with 50 different players and the Lakers are better.

They both are not great, Kieff is a better defensive player though, but Melo can hit open shots and get hot
I actually think our spacing is somewhat ok (not great) when we are healthy, maybe a bit better than last years, at least for the reg season
Dennis>Russ
Bazemore>AC
Nunn>KCP b/c of volume and can hit more difficult shots
Ariza=Kuzma
Melo>>Kieff
Gasol>>DJ/Dwight
Ellington/Monk>Wes
THT=THT (hopefully he has improved)
Reaves looks like he can shoot too
Come playoff time though I am not sure how much Wayne/Monk we will see b/c of poor D
Same with Melo, but I can also see Vogel continuing to play him and go against the data, like Rondo
So that may hurt
But I can see us adding a 3 and d guard/wing by the deadline

Yes, I like that play a lot
Let Russ be like Draymond in a 4 on 3 when the high hedge comes for Lebron
Russ is a worse decision maker though and his finishing is underwhelming for his athleticism, but its better than him shooting

that's distorting his words because we all just saw them win a title without 3 point shooting so he surely can't mean they 'need' it to win in that sense. He's discussing maximizing your best players and the tried and proven method in the modern Nba is by 3 and D. Bucks reformed their roster around Giannis for example and it paid dividends. Warriors added 2 way shooters even though they already had the greatest shooter. Spurs were the same with Duncan, Parker and Manu. Duncan was already a good midrange spacer and DPOY calibre defender.
It also implies that it doesn't make sense to have your 2 best players be your only good defenders. Are they supposed to carry roleplayers on defense as well?
But the number one reason you want to put 3 and D players is all the other (top playoff) teams have 3 and D players around their stars. You don't want to lose the personnel matchup battle before even stepping on the court.
edit it's also unfortunate the Lakers got Westbrook and don't even have the 3 and D personnel to run Westbrook plus shooters lineups that don't struggle on either end.

Similar in that the defense is awful and some guys think they should do more than they should
But I don't know how we will blow it up
Who would we trade?
Realistically having THT, Ariza, Nunn, and even Ellington come back is like having a new team
No more DJ
No more Rondo
Avery will be cut
Less min for Monk and Melo
I don't see a REALISTIC Russ deal
Yes some deals make some sense:
Russ and the 3 wiz 2nd to CLE for Love and Rubio. CLE saves money this year, not next year and why help Bron? For a few early to mid 2nds (not a bad deal tbh, but doubt they do it)
Russ, DJ, and 2nds for Horford and Smart? Not sure if Boston does it, but they could use a #1 ball handler. If they want to do Horford and Jrich, I decline it, unless they send at least a 1st and maybe even Pritchard/Langford

Lol get out of this thread with that GARBAGE
The Nets have Joe Harris, the best 3 pt shooter last year with Mills (7/7 from 3 in their 1st game) and muliple bigs who can also stretch the floor in Blake, LA, and Millsap.
These role guys are negatives and have been awful defenders for years

Wow...the new AC??
Lebron is iffy for the next game vs SA btw, I would sit him
Let Russ do his thing; this was why we brought him over, right?
If Russ can't even do that, I try my best to move him by the deadline

Good luck with finding a trade for Westbrook.

The startling line up can survive as soon as Vogel realizes he has enough sample size to bin DeAndre Jordan to the scrap heap. If you need size and verticality while being willing to eat the lack of spacing, might as well go with Howard, who can provide the benefits.

I think there are probably many of these guys out there.
Ultimately a guy like LeBron needs a low ego player with solid IQ and a couple tools that means they belong on an NBA court.
I think G league would probably have plenty to fit LeBron. Duncan Robinson was G league and he'd be amazing with LeBron. I think you got to have a low ego to make it out of the G league or to go undrafted. It's humbling.
It's all about the high IQ-to-ego ratio for guys that work with LeBron. You got to be clever to keep up with him but willing to go along with helping his game.

This was a home game for the Lakers against a team on a back to back. If they didn't win here there would've been a good reason to panic.

There's always a trade if you're willing to take on money.
Porzingis + Bullock
Love + Sexton
Hield + Beasley + Pat Bev in a 3 way with Sac/Minn if Minnesota doesn't get Simmons are three possibilities that come to mind.

The first two make no sense for the receiving teams at all.

Mavs shed Porzingis a year early and they could use a secondary ball handler to Doncic. Its the same logic as LeBron wanting to play with another facilitator, except they have fewer spacing issues.
Cavs have no use for Love and he's actively disruptive for them, they aren't willing to pay Sexton. Its an exchange for salaries plus a useful player.
