whether we are optimistic or pwssimistic has zero effect on what will happen in the season

no reason to worry much or "fight" over it

Ben's new video got LeBron ranked at 5 for 2020-21 when including health (6th when not)

Not surprising he continues to overrate Steph and underplay the defensive issues with him and Jokic. Rest of the vid is great tho

Hmm I think the position makes a big difference. The defensive player closest to the basket and usually co-ordinates team defense because they can see everything, so it is important that the C is a defender unless they defend on the perimeter mostly.

the aesthetical bias in favor of more off ball players and overvaluing "fit into great teams" (which sometimes means super stacked ones that would be favorite regardless which star you insert) are his biggest blindspots imo

also the somewhat paradoxical issue of valuing off ball impact so much while acting like a great team can only be one with multiple star ballhandlers (to emphazise the value of an offball star)

or how he doesnt adjust his priors on portability even after evidence of the opposite: harden (21) or lebron (20) showed they could adapt to be a second option (kind of) with great stars he still treats them as bad portability on great teams players

The #1 guy can't be a negative defender who gets picked on constantly

I am speaking about Jokic

Suns continued to go at hi and Denver had no answer

But Curry has also had moments of being targeted successfully

I agree with no AD in the top 10

Bubble AD was a top 5 guy

Last years AD was maybe closer to 15, if that

AD better step up and be a top 10 guy this season

I am ok with Lebron being 5/6 with a chance to be at the top when it comes to the playoffs

Wish we were healthy to see how this team will mesh

Sucks that Ariza and THT will be out for some time

Hopefully Monk and Ellington are good around opening day

i have an issue about how he uses a small less than 30 sample size stretch from the warriors and highlight it

i think if you are gonna do that you need to do the same with all the players and look at their healthier/best stretches too

How much better is 2013/2014 Wade than current Russ?

Watching Westbrook and Rondo run PG this year will be torture.

Having Reaves as the third sub with Rondo and Melo as the 1st and 2nd subs is wild and awful. Every geme they’ve played this preseason is exactly the same—a little drought, blown rotations, lead becomes 10+. They’ve only been competitive with James playing and putting in some effort. Having Ariza, THT, Monk, and Nunn would help things, but this looks like a disaster in the making,

AD again looks like non impact trash.

It's like he forgot how to play after 2020. Just looks so awkward offensively.

Lost in all the turnover talk (Westbrook and LeBron) has been the lethargic, weak play of Davis.

He is suppose to be “the man”, in his prime. Instead he looks out of shape and sloppy.

He has been the biggest disappointment for me so far.
Don't believe the hype...

Rondo is good for a -21 in 9 minutes so far. The second unit looks like it's going to be absolutely brutal, at least until guys get healthy and/or Westbrook figures his **** out.

I hope Vogel is just experimenting and doesn't actually plan to play Rondo + Westbrook lineups. That's begging for constant defensive breakdowns on the perimeter and **** spacing offensively.

AD is also -16 in 13 minutes compared to Lebron +12 in 14.

LeBron's looked much better after the first preseason game (where he looked 50). 37 years old but still far and away the team's best player.

33-34 minutes a night of this LeBron and AD not being a bum and Westbrook being decent should be enough for a bunch of wins. AD playing like a top 10 player and Russ being decent like he is tonight and they’d be a ha foul. Hope Nunn, Monk, et. al., are back soon.

if you had told me before 2020 that nearly 37 years old lebron would be the reliable workhorse of lakers and davis the unreliable player (and not even only because of injuries)...

I haven't even tuned in yet, but this is a joke

AD hasn't been a top 10, maybe even top 15 player, since we won the ring

If he wasn't on Klutch I would say trade him for Dame and move Russ

Rondo is -29 in 16 minutes of play

He's in fine 2020 regular season form.

There's always the possibility of it being preseason nonsense but I agree, he's looked good. He's got a fairly quick release, has shown great court awareness, hustles, and looks like a smart passer.

Lebron looking really good in this game, very spry. Incredible he's almost 37 and in his 19th season. The new FT routine looks much better too.
