I know but I still wouldn't bet on them coming back a month ago. They might get it back to 10-15 then they'd start playing like idiots again.

I don’t think they would have pulled it within 20 tbh that start was insane

Like when you'd watch a game of the 90's Bulls and they were down 15 in the third quarter you were still 90% sure they'd win.

That was the Heat in 2013 including that big comeback against the Cavs to keep the 27 win streak going lol.

Edit: one thing I remember about that season you never felt they were out no matter how much they were down. You knew they were going to come back and win most likely. Truly a special season which now gets lost due to Wade losing his legs in the PS.

That was so dumb lmao. He did the same thing at the end of 2016

If only he did the Kornet eclipse

You mean in the 2016 Finals? Made sense to let Barnes shoot in that series

Iirc it was Speights or some **** he just gave up the final corner shot to while putting his arms out like that lmao. Once they up 4 with one possession to go Bron turns into the "no matter what I will not be there" meme

Ya, especially once they got past 20. I remember how wild some of those wins got.

Here is my post from the middle of last season highlighting just how good Vanderbilt is.

First of all, he is, without a doubt the best offensive rebounding non-center in the league and has an argument for the best offensive rebounder in the league [counting centers].

He is averaging 3.4 Oreb/G since getting consistent minutes [Starting game 4 of the season] and his Oreb% is 12.1%. Its a joy to watch him in today's NBA as he is a hawk and utilizes the spacing on the court as a weapon to cut through the lane for offensive rebounds. I have never seen someone do what he does on every single possession offensively.

Defensively he is extremely active, strong enough to hang with guys like LeBron but quick enough to defend larger 2's. He averages 1.5 steals per game and doesn't let his offensive rebounding get in the way of getting back defensively.

Extremely unique player in todays NBA.

Wow what a steal by Pelinka then jeez. Seemed like he was treated like the third guy in that trade but he really might be the best piece in it. Vaguely reminiscent of the Pipe Gawd being thrown in to the Shumpert trade

Yea you could see it too when teams got up and started lollygagging and the Heatles started turning them over and getting transition buckets. Eventually the tide would just turn and those teams just couldn't hold it back. Was crazy to see. I feel like the 2016 Warriors were the ultimate version of that tho. But they just did it with stops and 3s vs steals and transition dunks.

I'll rewatch tomorrow looking for a more granular / tactical standpoint, but who would have thought the Lakers pulled this off. Vanderbilt already has grown on me, I'm very happy with Davis' and Dennis' in-game resurgence, and James' ability to foot-work / dance his way to the basket in winning-time after a slow start to kick us off.

Vanderbilt was incredible. He dominated the mavs Pistons Rodman-style.

2020 was an amazing team-defense but I can't remember when Bron had a sole wing defender like Vando.

I mean it's almost the exact same play, except for the part that makes it completely different

Image

If Speights hits the shot the game... is still over. It was a buzzer beater attempt. LeBron not contesting the shot made it completely impossible for the Warriors to tie or win the game. So I don't think anyone would've really been **** their pants

Meanwhile 5.4 seconds were left after Holiday hit the 3 tonight.

Not that big of a deal but very weird comparison to the Speights shot when the game was 100% over, no other play could've been run.

Ok fair enough, my memory playing tricks on me. I just remember it looking the same with Lebron doing pretty much the same thing on D lol. Which imo was still kinda dumb on his part today.

As far as the team goes, so far Vanderbilt outperformed expectations. Beasley in line with expectations. But if DLo can outperform expectations and get Bron and AD a few easy short roll buckets per game from his gravity I'm officially gonna allow myself to start dreaming of a chip lol.

But I mean, those 2 are so good that really a poor man's Detroit Rodman for their 3rd best player is all they need to win a chip lol. Those MFs won with KCP as the 3rd member of their Big 3, and Vanderbilt probably can approach elite role player status like Bubble KCP did

Fair enough, it just bizarrely reminded me of that play. I'll let it slide for now but if he does this s*** again it's a pattern and I will have no choice but to slander him for it

Lol Bron resorting to the post up cheese on his bum ankle is basically a glimpse at what ultimate old man Bron game is gonna be. Kinda like PF Magic during his comeback lol

I often find this guy to cherrypick quite a bit when he does player analysis, but this is a pretty cool watch.

I hope Lakers can win 1 of their b2b with @MEM then @OKC..

It feels like they should lose both but if they win 1 then I think that would be an excellent sign. Prefer them to beat OKC honestly

Assuming you prefer they beat OKC because then it’s a sign they’re doing what they need to do vs potentially fluking a win vs MEM?
