All things considered Rudy might be the most embarrassing player ever. He really got benched for Guerschon Yabusele and the coach even said defense was a reason for lineup change lol

it is one of the alltime basketball travesties this fraud has 4 Dpoys

Great Olympic play by Anthony Davis, whose defensive impact rivaled the value of the big names.

LeBron is obviously the NBA GOAT, but now he's solidifying his case for having the GOAT basketball career with his third gold medal. 39 year-old Olympian and may have been the best player on the team.

It really needs to be stated that the USA team, filled with NBA players, is at a disadvantage vs. every other team they face, and have been since 1992. It's literally a different ruleset, and these FIBA teams have continuity within that ruleset. We go in and basically delegitimize their ruleset by training guys up for a few weeks and decimating everybody.

Wemby is an excellent young player. I don't know how the laws work, but hopefully he can renounce his citizenship with France so he can play with a country and team that isn't second-class. They could have paired him with MVP Embiid but instead gave him low-IQ Gobert, no-minutes-on-the-Knicks Fournier, and dirty Batum. Super unlikable team.

Canada, South Sudan, and Serbia were awesome. Would like to see Victor join any of those three or the USA.

EDIT: Forgot to add it's great to see multi-national basketball legend Stephon "Stahbury" Marbury further growing the game and watching the Olympic competition.

If Fiba Yabusule is really Charles Barkley then France got a real chance in 2028. Nolan Traore is projected as a top 5 pick next years drat and hes the exact type of bucket getter they need. This was a 3pt game wit a couple minutes to go

This was prolly Bron, Kd, Steph last run. For Fiba world cup we couldnt even get any medal last year w/ some of our best young American players even though some were missing Ant was there and he had struggles. We saw Dame was terrible in Fiba play the Nba game and foul baiting doesnt translate.

Jayson prolly feels salty w/ mins and Jaylen for not being selected so their status is even up in the air. Embiid prolly wont play. For 28 itd be Booker, Ja, Ad, Bam, Ant, Hali.....Chet? Flag? I guess Mobley. Jaren Jackson is one of the best American bigs and he was a disaster in Fiba cup got completely bodied. We'll still have most talent but we did last year for cup and didnt medal since American superstars have been a dying breed. We have a bunch of stars after the Bron, Kd, Steph, Kawhi, Harden, Cp3, Russ crop. France got a real chance in 28 Imo

It's not just Wemby, France has Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly, Tidjane Salaun. They could be a genuine threat in 4 years if everyone develops.

A mistake, IMO. Gobert gave France good minutes today, I think the box score is deceiving there.

Anyway he’s a 2x silver medalist and one of those was as the best player on the team. Pretty good career, I’d say.

If we’re talking embarrassing Olympics, the first name there should probably be Jayson Tatum. One of the top stories of the tournament being your parents publicly complaining that you’re not getting enough playtime is … kinda sad. Feel for him

Ngl this was a bad look for Jayson but i meant embarrassments overall. Rudy having 4 Dpoys while contemporaries in Ad and Bam have 0 is a disgrace to the sport of basketball.

France doubling Curry to leave KD or LeBron open is insane to me.

Truly the greatest offensive force in history once he gets going.

LeBron was a deserving MVP winner too. Glad the old guard got to play together at least once for the Olympics. They had insane chemistry at times as expected.

My favorite Basketball Olympics to watch by far and I've seen them all since 2004. This one was just special.

Steph has a strong case being the best ceiling raiser of all time. No matter how many meta stars you put around him, he is still the most explosive scorer out there, 4 threes in less than 3 mins is crazy..

It was definitely cool to see LeBron and Steph play with each other in an actual competitive environment, they really got the chemistry going in the last two games.

Not that any real basketball fan needed a reminder, but seeing curry go off like that was truly joyful. He's 1 of 1. And at the same time a little bittersweet that his career will come to a close sooner than later. How has it been 15 years??

Even tho I'm not a lebron fan, respect to his absurd longevity. He had a couple of plays in the gold medal game just left me saying to myself, "how is this guy still doing this?"

Oh and can't get enough of Wemby regardless of the format. Please stay healthy

All of this, yes. Love watching Steph play. Wemby, I'm gonna love once he falls out of love with his jumper, heh. But he's something else on D and the glass. So much potential.

Olympics were poetic. LeBron the best, most consistent player, KD the preeminent "go get us a bucket" guy, and Steph going nuclear right when they needed it. Younger guys did all the dirty work. Embiid was there too.

I lowkey think embiid performed admirably in semis vs jokic and on his own in offense. May have been tje better big of that game

Nothing really lowkey about it, Embiid was widely praised and recognized as one of Team USA’s key contributors alongside Steph and LeBron.

Not sure if this belongs here or in the OT thread but the controversy about schroeder and durant is interesting to see

Is probable that from schroeder perspective he doesnt realize that talking about europe being better than usa at some (vaguely defined and hard to quantify) basketball aspects like "IQ" or "fundamentals" comes across as a racially slanted stereotype at best and outright racist at worst

There is a long story of racial biases impacting how basketball players are perceived (jeremy lin anyone?) And black players non athletic talents have usually been the most common victims

Durant annoyance may be more from national pride but is still worth pointing out
