If I am the Mavs, I don't think I'd play Luka at all for the rest of the series.

Not worth the risk.

This reminds me of Dirks injury in the 03 Wcf. Don Nelson said he wasnt gonna play rest of the series even tho they had a real chance to win the title and were prolly the best team. I think Dirk was pissed at the time but later on his career said he was thankful he made that decision

Kawhi reminding people why the Clippers were favorites before the season.

It's because the dude hits a different gear in the Playoffs and takes over games by himself like few can.

I actually think the Mavs might be the better team here. If it weren't for Luka's ankle and KPs ejection there is a real possibility they'd be up 3-0.

Idk. These Mavs are probably the most loaded 7th seed I can remember. The have a megastar plus another All-Star and can routinely trot out 5 shooter+4 playmaker lineup. 6th in SRS in the league and 3rd in the conference. It's just sheer bad luck they are the 7th seed. I think they are a tougher out than the Jazz and Nuggets for sure.

Was just going to say, Dallas is not a typical 7th seed. They're probably stronger than every team below Houston.

3.5 games out of the 3rd seed. They just weren't good in the clutch this year and lost some third games.

This reminds me of 2015 when the 56 win defending champion Spurs ended up as the 6th seed when they were clearly the 2nd or 3rd best team in the conference after the Warriors and Clippers.

Clippers-Mavs will be a historically good series. Can't get enough right now.

This actually reminds me of 2013. This Dallas team reminds me a ton of the GSW team the Spurs faced in the first round. Ginobili hit a crazy 3 at the end of overtime in game 1, or that series could have gone sideways for the Spurs really quick. GSW wasn't quite ready yet. I think Dallas is like that, maybe a year or two away from being a 65+ win team and winning it all.

Actually the Warriors played the Nuggets in the first round I believe, which was the catalyst for Iggy joining them. The Spurs were in the second round.

They're the better coached team, at least. It took until last night for Doc to finally start playing Zubac more, which fans have been begging him to do literally all season. He still plays Lou, Trez and Reggie together when they can't guard anyone. Reggie shouldn't even be in the rotation at this point because he's that bad defensively.

Blaming last night on Luka's injury is a stretch, though. The Mavs were already down 14 when he got hurt and they've actually done really well in the non-Doncic minutes so far this series. Kawhi just wasn't losing that game.

I agree a Mavs are a team before the team situation. Another comparison would be the Thunder playing the Lakers in 2010. Porzingis has huge season next year written all over him.

That seems like a stretch, especially last nights game.

Is that what happened? I remember the clippers just about scraping a 2-1 lead with the mavs best two players playing limited minuites.

Well that goes without saying. One dude forced arguably the greatest playoff team in history(led by arguably the greatest coach) to a razor thin 7 game series, the other dude's doc's rivers.

It'd be a massive shame if Luka is out for the series, the Mavericks have (had?) a real chance in this series. Without Luka's injury and Porzingis's ejection, I think they'd be up 2-1 up right now. Of course if Luka is out then they have no chance whatsoever.

These Sixers were the team Dr. Spaceman had to represent the East....

Ah, good point. That was the year the nuggets were a regular season juggernaut with a bunch of non-stars, yea?

Yup, they also only lost 3 times at home.

I couldn't believe how people talked themselves into that horrible giant lineup.
