Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
Leonard just can't miss tonight. He's locked in, it's clear to see. I haven't seen Kawhi being this dominant since 2019.
Even if Clippers lose this series, you can't blame Kawhi for that. This Clippers team is horrible to watch.

Without slow start, Leonard already would have 60.

I would have laughed in your face if you told me Kawhi was going to have an all-world performance like this after that disaster first quarter. This is unbelievable.

Still doesn't change the fact that George sucked

The egomaniac Kawhi not-leading his team to a win with 45 in an elimination game

This was like LeBron's Game 6 against the Celtics in 2012. Kawhi's whole legacy was on the line tonight and he dominated like a two-time FMVP should.
Guess I spoke too soon. THIS was Kawhi's "Game 6 against the Celtics" moment.

Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
Blows my mind how consistently bad elite players are in what the coaches and even teammates that they do
Im not calling Dame dumb or anything but i feel like some of his rationale is "Jkidd is one of the best defensive Pgs ever we'll be good defensively with him coaching"

I mean for him personally? Maybe. Kawhi looked great athletically out there. Easily the lost mobility I’ve seen him have since 2017.
But in 2017 he utterly trashed Memphis on both ends. He had a few insane moments against Philly too.
The level of defense of the 12 Celtics can’t really be overstated. Or the state of the league on coaching/scheming offense.
The entire 2012 season was a defensive slugfest. It was by far the most defensive season since 2004.
The Celtics were the most defensive team in that league. KG was peaking as a help defender. People forget, he declined athletically, but the actual motor KG possessed was elite until the very end. He was devastating defensively.
So it’s really not the same level of play IMO. But it could be symbolic. Who knows.
Honestly he’ll really have to pull out truly insane performances for them to win the next 3 rounds after this one. I wouldn’t speak too soon.
Swinging for the fences.

Whoof. You just have to hope management has the sense not to waste the last years of Dame's prime by listening to his GM advice.

Kawhi annihilated Memphis in 17 but Tony Allen was out for the series and he gave him problems in the Rs matchups
Kawhi was being checked by James Ennis and 40yo Vince Carter that series
He actually looked human in the last 2 games

Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
Kidd failed with the Bucks and the way he got that job was ugly, but I think he's likely learned from some of the issues that caused him to fail. I don't have an issue with him getting another chance. He just has to succeed because its almost certainly his last.

Re: 2020-21 NBA Season Discussion
It always sucks to see major injuries in the playoffs. It should be interesting to see how KD responds to the adversity if Harden's hamstring is bad enough to sideline him for the series, though.
On a side note: the Nets' crowd is so weak, it makes the tiny COVID-restricted crowds at Staples sound like Arrowhead by comparison.

Are the Hawks the only healthy team left in these playoffs?
