This is why you can't call ANT a superstar. This dude just disappears for 20 mins at a time. . Come on bro. What are you doing? You can't go down 0-2 to this Thunder team . They will for sure steal on on your HC if you do that. .. Go out Guns blazing. Even Joker didn't go out guns blazing Game 7. A REAL superstar will fight to the death. Not stand around and hope the role players and bums bail him out. Even if they lose, they let the winner they didn't stop them. You hoping for Naz Reid to get hot from the field? FFS

They were facing the best player in the world and the core of a championship team.
But yeah OKC just feels so inevitable. Sucks we don't have a Lebron in the East to act as their foil.

Giannis maybe, just needs a bit more help.

Ya it’s not exactly the 2014 Mavs but still, DEN forcing 7 (while Jokic struggled for half the series no less) was certainly not an expected result for most.

I hate on JDub a lot for his half court scoring but he’s a better passer than I realized

The 2014 Mavs you say?
A plucky, Rick Carlisle-coached team with a knack for late comebacks and clutch 3s? Adaptable with tons of depth and guys who knew how to find good shots? Hm if only there was a team like that out there…

I thought it was a given that Minny would struggle to score in this series. I’m surprised that they haven’t been able to make it difficult on OKC on the other end.

I think people are sleeping on how good this Pacers team actually is. They've played like a 60 win team in 2025 and are 9-2 in the playoffs so far. The Thunder should win obviously but the Pacers aren't pushovers.

Out of the non GOAT level teams 2014 Spurs have a credible case for being the best but that first round series against Dallas was close. It was similar to 2008 BOS v CLE in which an upset was a genuine possibility and the teams were competitive game to game.
2025 OKC v DEN reminds me of a series like 2009 LA vs HOU in which a champion played a seven game series in which they outplayed the competition by a fair bit.
Back to OKC we have 82 games and 2 1/2 rounds of basketball. Everything about this club screams ATG team: Massive MOV, Dominant post-season wins, ATG MVP player in the heart of his prime, strong preceding seasons, etc.

They actually have been much better than I thought, but I'd be stunned if they won more than a game vs OKC.

I do not think there's a 2025 analogue for 2014 Nowitzki resurrecting careers of underwhelming role players like Jameer Nelson, Monta Ellis or Jose Calderon.
The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player

I wonder how Okc playoff offense will be looked at and Sga lift on that considering how significant points off turnovers are for their offense and while he plays a part he isn't one of their most impactful defenders like Mj and Pippen were for Chicago defense. They've already had 4 games scoring 30 off turnovers this playoff run

OKC could lose to them if they screw around like they did against Denver.
Indiana’s younger, deeper and deadlier at the end of games. But other than that, they should put them away.
I think Indiana presents a real potential issue in how deep they are with passers. It’ll be the least centralized offense they’ve faced by far. And their defense really likes to cheat and kind of intimidate you with speed. Indiana could hypothetically exploit this.
Completely different levels but we saw the 2014 Finals as a good example of when a passing team takes a speed defense head on and aggressively attacks.
Indiana is not going to do +17 offense on OKC, but maybe they could do it for a game or two and that’s all it takes to make it a series.
Swinging for the fences.

It would be a fascinating matchup to see okc defense try to solve but i think calling the 2014 heat a "speed defense" may be a stretch

How in the world did Haliburton get the "overrated" label, when I barely see him talked about?
He's one of the most underrated players in the league if anything. Reminds me a ton of Steve Nash. Doesn't put up monster scoring numbers, but is really efficient and has shown the ability to ramp up the scoring when he has to, but is very content to be one of the best playmakers in the league and set his teammates up. He also barely turns the ball over which is another huge plus and adds to his efficiency.

Hard to believe but the WORST rounds in the post season will be the last 2 rounds. Absolute stinkers from beginning to end. 2 rounds of sweeps

Maybe I'm still scarred by Steven Adams but it feels like a big story of this playoffs has been offensive rebounding

Responding with a comeback win of their own would be so sick lol
