Re: The Russell GOATbrook Thread (2014/15)
I couldn't watch the last 2 games while starting my work at 6am (the westcoast games in France are starting at 4:30am).
As expected his wonder efficiency number dropped but he stills remains impressive and extremely productive. This night the settling for jumpers are probably due to B2B tireness (still going insanely to the lane and being capable of closing game for OKC without KD).

Westbrook has really matured, career high in fg%, congradz.
Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

KD out again, time for GOAT to GOAT.
AD will be looking to bounce back after a bad game last night. Should be a good one.

We are really tough to score on when Jrue/Asik/Davis are all in rhythm (which is really rare). Jrue seems to match up really well against him also. Second time in a row that he forced Westbrook into a bad game.

I only watched the first quarter and was box-score watching rest of the game.
What happened? At one point he was 8-18 and finished with 10-27?

Games like this break my basketball heart. I'm wondering about KD's health, and I now think they're in the playoffs, but I don't see how they're a contender. I'm guessing Ibaka was bad again, b/c AD went nuts, and Russ's decision making was apparently really bad from what I'm reading. Decent chance they lose the next 2 as well, gonna be a tough climb.

He blacked out in the 4th quarter and just ignored everyone. Horrible shots and decision making.
Apparently no one knew Anderson could shoot a basketball.
Just a horrible game to watch while we are in this hole.

Damn, Russ is my favorite player but he can't be reverting to the hero ball **** down the stretch like that. 0-6 down the stretch on his last 6 shots, all terrible shots. I mean this has been the problem with the Thunder for years, ISOs on every play down the stretch of games, except its usually Durant ISO-ing and he's usually good enough.

Re: The Russell GOATbrook Thread (2014/15)
I've pointed it it out before, but for some reason Westbrook and Jackson can't abuse a Pick N Pop with Ibaka.dfins891 wrote:And Serge continuing his bad season is a serious concern at this point. Not sure whats up with him.
Durant is the only one who can based on his superior shooting ability and vision above the defense.
Several articles were written on it last season, when Ibaka had his career season.
After beating the Rockets in record breaking fashion, the Thunder went on a 10 game win streak – and are 13-2 overall since that game – putting them back on top of the Western Conference. Serge Ibaka has averaged 18.6 points per game on 63.0% shooting in that stretch, while Durant’s assists per game have made a leap of over 50% in that same time. Of Durant’s 98 assists in his last 14 games (he missed one game during the streak), 52 of them came when Ibaka scored a basket. That accounts for 53.1% of his assists.
Serge Ibaka led the league in mid-range shooting percentage last year, and he has been extraordinary as of late from that part of the floor. From a basketball standpoint, the way Durant and Ibaka have connected on the court is pretty easy to identify, and all 52 of those assists are shown in the video below. Watch how many of them come from situations where Ibaka sets a pick on Durant’s defender, and Ibaka either pops out for a jump shot or rolls to the basket for an easy bucket:
Watch if you can

"It's always been there with us, me and Serge," said Durant. Durant added, "I know his game. He know's mine. It's just a matter of us making shots."
That has not occurred because Ibaka and Kevin Durant have been terrific together. Durant’s has assisted on one-third of (54-for-160) Ibaka’s baskets since Westbrook went down. Since, Ibaka has averaged 15.9 ppg on 56.7-percent shooting.
“We have a better connection in the halfcourt offense,” Ibaka said of he and Durant whereas he and Westbrook work so well together in the open floor. “He has confidence in me. I know when he is going to pass to me. I just have to catch the ball. My first part of this is I owe it to him to get him open, so when he can get open, the defense starts to go to him, so then I know, ‘OK, now it’s my turn.’ I am going to get open and I know he is going to pass it to me, so I am going to make plays for myself and for my teammates.”
Ibaka’s midrange game continues to be one of the best in the league. He is hitting 47.8 percent of his shots taken outside the paint and inside the 3-point arc. Coming off a screen, Durant typically gets doubled and he finds Ibaka for the pick-and-pop jumper he loves from the top of the circle, or Ibaka rolls to the basket, an aspect of his game Brooks says has vastly improved.
