There is no such thing as a limit to certain shots for great shooters, like 9 or 10 per36. In Curry's case it's shoot whenever you feel like it. He has had a couple of subpar games in 3pt-shooting lately but this doesn't change the fact that every 3pt-shot he can take is a good shot. It's not like he plays like Kobe out there, most of his missed threes are decent looks he usually converts at a higher rate and this will come back to normal again. There is a reason why most people wanted Curry to take more shots this year so you're probably on an island with your opinion here and I'm sure the missed shots lately contributed mightily to it. Nobody said Curry should limit his attempts after 8 games were played.

On another note: there goes that record! :)

I'd bet he evens out somewhere between his current 'subpar' (...can you even use that term when a guy is still hitting 30-40 percent every night?) streak and his insanely hot start to the season. I don't think 'come back to normal' is quite the right term there, he isn't likely to go back to 70% true shooting.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

meh Curry historically starts off slow and then picks it back up after the all-star break. I'd expect a lull and then a rise in his shooting statistics again.

We are specifically talking about 3pt-shooting here. And when Curry shoots at a career-average percentage, which is a sensible expectation, then he should take any volume of shots he can get off around these percentages. It is not smart to set a limit on his attempts, that's the whole point.

Phoenix needs to cut into this lead for Curry to have a shot at the record tonight.

What's even more scary is that arguably the second best three point shooter in the league is Thompson, and he's starting to find his footing on the season. They really have the potential to beat Isiah/Dumars for the best backcourt ever.

I know Curry is an MVP level player and am not denying that, but just for curiosity's sake, what if tomorrow he suddenly became just an average shooter rather than a great one. Is he still well-rounded enough to be an all star?

At what point do we start talking about Curry possibly having the GOAT season (at least offensively). Dude has been ridiculous and he doesnt even look like he's over extending himself.

You mean on this board or in the normal world? Because the answer would be extremely diverging, namely now and never.

If he keeps this up I don't even see a reason for talking - it should be a unanimous choice for the GOAT offensive season.
