How about getting to the finals as the best player on the team, when Gasol's best tries ended unanimously in 1st round sweeps. How about that.
Gasol is much better now than he was then.
I don't know about "much better". I think Gasol is similar to Tim Duncan in that he came into the league already highly skilled. Looking back at Gasol in his Grizzlies days, he still had the great touch in the post, the great passing, etc. I think if he really got "much better" at one thing, it would have to be his rebounding.

Yeah I'm sure that's it

It's the only legitimate reason as to why the OP is like this, calling Dwight out for having "zero skills" (absolutely untrue, in terms of both offense and defense) and basically a prime Ben Wallace (an insulting comparison for Dwight).
I mean, would you really take Gasol over Dwight? As a Magic fan I'm probably more biased towards Dwight than you are to Pau, but I'll give you the fact that Gasol is more polished on offense, although I'd still take Dwight over him due to the fact that 1. Dwight draws FAR more attention from opposing defenses than does Pau and 2. Dwight is much more efficient in getting his points, despite the fact that Dwight gets more attention and that Pau plays with a more talented team with a top 5 player in Kobe.
But still, is the gap between Gasol and Howard on offense (which, I repeat, is minimal if there's any gap) THAT much bigger than Dwight's advantage on defense and rebounding? I think it's pretty simple if you think about it that way. Plus, Gasol's at least 5 years older than Dwight. To be honest, if we had the same expectations for Gasol like we do for Dwight, we'd be bashing Gasol for not being the uncontested best big man in the game today, considering the fact that Gasol's in his prime while Dwight's still a few years away from his.
