So far this season, CP3 is clearly winning this matchup. In the individual advanced metrics, CP3 is leading the league in PER and WS48, while Deron isn't in the top 10 in either statistic. I think having the better record with the weaker supporting cast is also a big result in CP3's favor so far. CP3 also has big advantages in on/off and own/opp splits.

The career metrics also stack up very favorably for CP3. PER 25.6 over Deron's 18.7. WS48 0.236 over Deron's 0.142. TS 57.1% over 55.9%. A%/T% of 3.55 over Deron's 2.51.

Statistically, I don't think this one is close. I do think that Deron matches up very well against Paul head to head, but against the other 28 NBA teams there's no question I'd rather have Paul.

It's not mexico vs spain. Some people in the US are racist vs mexican and another races. Spanish are white. We are not mexican, altough some people in the USA seems to think it. (I have no problem with mexico or mexicans, but I have problem with ignorant who don't know that Mexico and Spain only have language in common, and it's pretty different)

He played some sg, disshed the ball, scored as he wanted. He did an MVP game.

Yes, they are a whopping 1.0 game better 17 games into the season, while having a much easier schedule, and getting absolutely blasted in their one head to head meeting.

I am not going to lie, these teams are just about sixes other than the fact that Jefferson is better than Okafor, and Millsap has the edge on West so far. NO has a better bench than the Jazz imo, especially at the guard spots. Neither team is packing all that much for their 3rd and 4th big men.

Nash is not even close to being the best anymore. He may be #6 now.

Only if you only look at volume scoring. He's averaging 19/9.5. Chris Paul is averaging 16.5/10, and Deron Williams is averaging 21/10, with lower efficiency.

How are they clearly better than Nash?

Nash can take an ok team and make it a good team, but he can't turn a good team into a great team.

1 Defense

Nash needs Richardson and Grant Hill to pick up the more difficult defensive assignments. An example is when Nash couldn't defend Adnre Milller so Grant Hill had to pick him up. A player like Williams is capable of defending anyone on the perimeter and has even played great D on Kobe Bryant. A good defender is like a good PG, they make their teammates jobs easier. Nash makes his teammates jobs much, much more difficult than it has to be on defense.

2 Versatility

Williams and Paul both have proven that they can be successful at any pace. One of the worst seasons Nash has had individually was when he had Shaquille O'Neal on his team. A good PG would be able to use Shaquille O'Neal, not Channing Frye.

Also, a player like Williams doesn't need the ball as much as Nash. Williams does a lot of work off the ball and this allows his teammates to get involved in the game. I really think this helps his team keep the offensive flow when he's off the floor.

Nash runs a system that can only be run by elite PGs. Its almost impossible to find a PG that can run that system, which makes Nash very valuable to the team. A lot of people see that as impressive, but I see it as a weakness. The Suns suck so much when he's off the floor because the team is built around him.... if the teams not built around him specifically he's just another good PG. I see that as a huge weakness.
