Frank Ntilikina over this guy? And we wonder why the East is so much worse than the West.

To be fair we have yet to see Frank play

Granted, and I don't want to single out Ntilikina because he can be a solid player himself. I was just trying to drive home the point that teams continue to make bad decisions over and over again, especially in the draft.

DSJ dropping to 9th with that skill set is just insane to me.

He has yet to crack the Cavs 15 man rotation. Point being - Its summer/d-league basketball. Dont get your hopes too high.

No he didn't.

Kay Felder (rookie summer league):

7 G | 15-3-4-1-1 | 48.6% TS | 19.3 PER (25.0% USG) | .156 WS/48

It is OK, but nothing to write home about.

Im talking when he played in the D-League last season, not summer league. 30-6-3-2 on 49%

Bump. I called it 8-)

Jayson Tatum is the best rookie in terms of playoff production that I can remember in a long time. He's obviously better than Simmons who has flaws in his game that can be exposed, and he's better than Mitchell defensively. It's very rare that player this age didn't have glaring weaknesses in his game.

Best rookie in terms of ps production with a PER of 16.8? Some rookies like Shaq and duncan had a PER above 20 and way more defensive presence. Theres no debate imho unless you mean rookies at a certain age. Ps: i didnt read "in a long time" excuse me..

Obviously I haven't seen Shaq or Duncan when they were rookies. Hence the thread specifies "I have ever seen". But since Duncan it'd be hard to come up with someone better.

Btw PER sucks, especially on a team with Brad Stevens. PER overvalues guys who shoot a lot of shots.

Not for nothing, you also made a similar thread about Karl Anthony-Townes too, and while he's good, he's nowhere near as good as you hyped him.

Disagree - Tatum will be the better long term player. He doesn't force anything and operates within the system already. Very mature for a young player.
Mitchell has been great and will be a very good player also. I think he believes the hype though too and will get ahead of himself

:noway: :noway: Based off of what? Tatum was more effecient on both ends of the court in the regular season and in the playoffs Tatum had a better ts, win share, PER, etc... Tatum was also a plus 19 when Mitchell was a negative 2. That's in no way diminishing wha Mitchell has done, but to say it wasn't close is just comical when the evidence points to the opposite.

Shaq wasn't in the playoffs as a rookie, Duncan was def very good in the playoffs though, it's difficult to compare wings to big men however. What Mitchell and Tatum did scoring twenty seven times as a rookie in the playoffs is very impressive though and Tatum might not even be done at seven games,

I'm sorry but I refuse to even entertain the notion that Tatum was better this year than Tim Duncan was as a rookie. Love the kid and don't blame people for being excited about him, but this is just way too much. Timmy was an MVP candidate that year.

What's the argument that he's even better than Towns was 2 years ago?

Rookies with at least 18 PPG, .550 TS%, in at least 10 playoff games.

    West
    Alcindor
    Magic
    Robinson
    Tatum

Stevens is an amazing coach.

Put Tatum on the 76ers and Simmons on the Celtics... and everyone knows how that series goes

Towns’ defense is atrocious.
