CWebb said [slightly paraphrased]: "As of today, Davis is NOT better than Kyrie Irving; he's NOT better than Dwyane Wade. You wanna know why? Because they have that hardware. If they get there this year, then I say yeah [he's the best]."

Yeah I caught that too. So dumb. Like what if Lebrons the one that costs Davis a ring does the same still apply?

I really hope yourself and others are taking opponents’ defensive quality into consideration.

The Heat in 2011 faced the 7th, 2nd, 1st and 8th ranked defense in the playoffs. Aside from that one stinker series against Chicago, Wade was excellent otherwise and was getting talk for the best player in the world after the finals. The Chicago and Boston defenses were a type Ad never saw.

He did ok but not that great the 2nd time. The first time he played well but it was nowhere near a close series and he was a negative playmaker. His track record against strong defenses is nowhere close to or as proven as Wade’s.

Here is the order of on/off in the regular, from best to worst:
2012 Bosh
2017 Love
2012 Wade
2011 Wade
2017 Irving
2016 Love
2013 Bosh
2016 Irving
2020 Davis

Here is the order of on/off in the playoffs, from best to worst:
2020 Davis
2012 Wade
2017 Love
2016 Love
2017 Irving
2012 Bosh
2016 Irving
2011 Wade
2013 Bosh

Overall I'd say ranking (with weighting towards playoffs), from best to worst, looks like:
2012 Wade
2017 Love
2020 Davis
2012 Bosh
2016 Love
2017 Irving
2011 Wade
2016 Irving
2013 Bosh

This is just using one stat but I do think 2012 Wade should be number one. That's the Wade that won the championship with LeBron, I think it's possible people have overlooked Bosh in 2011 and believe Wade was the best on the team. Bosh had the highest on/off in the regular season and playoffs that season by quite a margin.

If Davis wins a championship with LeBron this year then I'd probably put him number 1.

Yes, that's correct. Just thought it'd be interesting.

I personally would rank Irving as the worst "star" teammate LeBron has had and that Love was very underrated. I imagine the rank at the end of his career will be:

1. Davis
2. Wade
3. Love
4. Bosh
5. Irving

Wade in 2012 was absolutely not better than his 2011 form. His impact stuff might look better but he clearly lost half a step and it showed in the postseason.

I mean, depends on your definition of "done well"...AD put up good numbers but they went 1-8 across the two series.

As for the OP...'11 Wade was probably the best individual player Bron has ever played along side but '20 Bron/Davis is more effective than '11 Bron/Wade

Irving outplayed Steph in the finals in 2016 when Steph was the unanimous MVP and they play the same position and hit the game winner in game 7 over him.

Its really odd. Why such a big disparity for Davis between RS and PS. Is it just a first year adjustment period?

Must be adjustment. He's been playing so much better in the playoffs than the regular season.

Its easily Davis. Hes just on another level in the playoffs. There is basically no coverage that can stop him TBH and defensively hes blossomed under finally getting a defensive coach into a Dpoy level defender

As of now? AD... but Wade is correct answer. LeBron would have 1 Title if he never hooked up w/Wade. Put Bosh + Wade w/multiple folks and he gets a ring.

Based on how things are going, this is 2020 AD. 2011 Wade was great, but obviously a poorer fit.
