Idk how or why some posters on here (namely one) have tried to begin pushing this narrative. I’d love to see how the process of it plays out too

Which narrative? That SGA was better than Jokic in the first round?

Yes

There is no context at all actually. Jokic on the Mavs loses first round against the clippers. Making up hypothetical situations that aren’t based in reality is just silly.

*Proceeds to say that Jokic would have lost to a Clippers team without Kawhi Leonard*

Big loss for Denver, their depth is so terrible at this point.

Maybe there’s a 2 or 3 for 1 with MPJ that can salvage it somehow.

Agreed they have been getting worse. They lost Bruce Brown and now KCP.

They feel like the Lakers after 2020 now. Where on paper Jokic & Murray showing up for 60ppg is hard to beat but its not something you really bet on happening. Obviously having Jokic still in his prime is something but front office moves are such a big part of prolonging title windows or creating dynastic type teams.

I'm picturing Jokic finding him out on outlets and him throwing some lobs to Gordon

One of the big weaknesses when Jokic sits is not only that the offense dies but that no one pushes the ball. Westbrook can do that with the second unit.

I can see that. But does the positives outweigh the negatives with Westbrook?

Another thing that the Nuggets sorely need is rim pressure from the perimeter. Other than Jokic, no one on the Nuggets can really consistently get into the paint. Westbrook can also help Nuggets deal with ball pressure better which was their achilles heel against Minny. He's the type that needs the ball in his hands to be effective and Denver needs ball-handlers who can get to the rim. I think the fit will be better than many think.

The other crazy thing to think about is that Westbrook is 36 this year...and he's still one of the most athletic guards in the league. Just a freak.

This is a good signing we saw they missed Bruce bad last season and Russ even now is a better version of Bruce and brings a lot of the same strengths except Russ can handle more and run offenses and lineups. Kcp a big loss tho

Denver is screwed if they give Murray the max. He has looked utterly awful in international play...and this playing as a 3rd or 4th option against non-NBA talents. With the albatross of MPJ's contract and the looming albatross of Murray's, I'm increasingly worried that Jokic is just gonna be stuck in a bad situation for the rest of his prime.
