Can we choose players from 2016?

Edit: re-read OP in draft thread. We are allowed.

Sorry, tough decision guys. I'll have my pick within half hour. Debating between two players.

I'm gonna take Kobe's other famous running mate, 2009 Pau Gasol (12.9 FGA). He's versatile. He can play power forward, he can play centre, he's a great lanky defender, he can stretch the floor to the mid-range, he's a great passer and he's gonna be a great compliment to both Kobe and Shaq. The high low passing

With my fifth pick, I'm gonna go for a bit of a reach because I need a defender to help out Kobe and take the opposing team's best perimeter player. I really wanted Iggy here, and almost had him, but I'll settle for 2008 James Posey (5.6 FGA). He saw time on both LeBron and Kobe during that playoff run and he's a smart veteran who can help steady the locker room and keep it simple out on the court - 38% from 3, teams could leave him open, but he's likely to make them pay for it. In any case, he should be a net positive.

Haha. Redundancy. Went with neither and took Pau.

Amazing pick with Pau, he was best value available. 12.9 FGA is super low for a championship #2 option. You are really going to have to be creative to fill out that roster I think because you are pushing 70 FGA, but man that's a tough team.

...I'm at a loss for words. I literally did my pau writeup first and was about to submit it with my last pick, but looked at your total FGAs and thought you might take iggy instead. Really didn't want to lose him, so I took my chances thinking pau was just too high usage for you to pick.

Posting my alternate reality pau writeup anyway while I go back to the drawing board :(

With lebron driving my offense, i looked to put elite volume scoring off the ball finishers around him in dwight and reggie. We can't rely on lebron to do it all, though. While post play isn't as coveted in today's game as it once was, dropping the ball down to a big with great court awareness when you need a late game bucket is a luxury.

Pau's combo of post moves, outside shot and above average court vision in both the high and low post will be an integral part of my half court offense. He's also mobile enough to start the break off the glass, and with lebron and dwight, they form a flat out scary defensive front court.

I was gonna take Iggy if you passed on him. Pau was literally a last minute pick. I chose another guy, posted it (don't know if anyone saw), and deleted it in like 5 seconds lol then fought with myself over two guys and passed on both and went with Pau. I am pretty restricted with my FGA now, however. Whatever.

I haven't settled on a year for Shaq yet, but I've been working with the assumption I'm gonna take 02, but prefer 00. I'm at 65.8 FGA with 5 guys on roster if I go with 02. With 00: 68.6 and with 01: 66.7. I have about 5-6 FGA for each of the next three guys. Gonna be tough, but manageable.

Heh, looking at your players, I thought you would be even tighter on FGAs than you are right now...

Well your team would have won single handedly with Pau. You would have had

_
Miller
Lebron/Iggy
Pau
Dwight

and just less than 60 FGA :o
You could have taken a HOF point and still have room for good bench guys.

Luckily for you, there are still some low FGA studs available at both positions and I think you've played the draft perfectly so far

Okay, so by my count 7 hours have passed since Pau-gate. Drunk with power, Dr Spaceman awards this pick to the Long Beach Longshoreman, who select combo forward Paul Millsap.
