They do?

Don't think they were going anywhere with the version of Lebron we saw in the playoffs.

Depends how healthy he was. Lebron usually takes a while to ramp up into form. They wouldn’t coast to anything though.

Now if neither gets injured at all this season it would have been a very good chance to win a ring without insane competition. I think nets might be too much in the coming years.

Pretty weak year this year imo lookin at the final 4.

The Suns have been the best team in the playoffs since AD went down and IMO this was immediately obvious, so I think it's perfectly reasonable to say that if the Lakers were handling them and LeBron and AD stayed reasonably healthy that they'd be able to beat all these lesser teams that have far less defensive discipline and more schemable offenses.

All these posts on the GB about Lakers trading for Ben Simmons. Dumbest **** I've ever seen. I can't believe it's even being discussed

Meanwhile, Sexton on the trade block. Hmmm....

 Everyone who decries “sUpErTeAmS” is going to be the ones who hate a Sun/Hawks finals. Don’t think the Hawks will win, though, but they’ll hate the Suns/Bucks, too.

everyone who said 2020 ring was an asterisk cause no crowds/lakers faced weak or injured teams

will go to ignore this year had a extremely injured field and no crowds for most of the season

is only an asterisk when lebron team is benefitted

at least that is what warriors fans seem to think when they say 2016 was an asterisk championship cause draymond missed a game

also, playing in a neutral court instead of having home court advantage REALLY helped lakers somehow...

Rondo, Lonzo, Schroder, Caruso are amazing guards in their own ways but might not hurt to consider a point guard that can actually make the defense go over the screen every once in a while. Pick and roll offense could do with some variety. Ben Simmons shouldn't even be considered.

How about them Ty Lue??

The Steph Curry bum hunting will always be his magnum opus, but imagine actually taking the league's laughing stock all the way to the NBA finals without your best player... Yes, the Clippers are stacked, but still. It's still a few notches away from LeBron leading CLE to the promised land, but still.

The Cavs were just much better than everyone else but they barely lost games in the playoffs till 2018 when everything just went to **** as Bron was going supernova

If he beats the top 2 seeds without his best player (or even goes the distance with the Suns), I don't see how he's not considered the best coach in the league. His adjustments are already top 5, and he's managed to get buy in from two superstars with widely different personalities on two separate teams. Not many coaches have that quality.

Honestly as an in game tactician and doing weird stuff it's gotta be between him and Nurse. Can't think of another coach who does weird in game stuff. Maybe Spo?

At this stage in his career LeBron likes veterans, not young players who are still developing, so it's possible he isn't crazy about Sexton. I haven't watched him play yet, but bbref tells me he's a decent shooter (probably a better one when he isn't the first option). How's his defense?

I honestly can't recall what he was criticized for before because his adjustments were so crucial to the title. Do you recall?

Suns have faced:
- Lakers with an injured AD and hurt LeBron.
- Nuggets without Murray
- Clippers without Kawhi

Imagine all the asterisk talk if the Lakers faced three injured teams like that.

Imagine the Lakers were 3-2 without James and +40 or whatever. Just imagine

why I don't discuss Lebron/Lakers on the GB, the level of Lebron/Laker discussion borders on ridiculous. Lots of really smart posters turn illogical for some reason. One amazing logic is suggesting an asterisk because AD was fresh didn't get injured. I've heard of asterisk for injuries but never an asterisk because everyone was healthy.

Kinda funny we were hoping for Gallo and thinking he might take a pay cut to play for a contender. Then he signs with hawks and it’s like oh I guess he doesn’t want to play for a contender he’s just after money (whic is fine)

Fast forward and he’s got both and hawks have made it way further than the lakers.

One of the most underrated players of the past decade. Mightve been a top 5 Sf of this era if he stayed healthy. HE was huge for Okcs success last season too
