Can the Lakers play the Phoenix Suns in the fourth quarter all year long? If they do they may have a winning record.

What do you know they can actually get stops occasionally when Ham doesn't play two complete liabilities at guard

By the way, there is still a lot that needs to change execution wise. Some amazing resilience in 3/4 the teams' wins, yes. But this occasional night-off leading to a 30 point blow-out does nobody any favors (where the aforementioned is in question too).

I can't imagine him being a Laker past the deadline, but having to put up with him for 3 more months is almost unbearable to think about. You know his mins will always stay high because Ham is borderline braindead.

They have to pivot towards the defense. Their offense will never be good enough

What’s absolutely wild about the Lakers is that ham is playing five out, and they can’t generate any three-point shots. In the modern NBA where you have teams easily putting up 35, 40, 45, 53 point shots, Ham has the Lakers playing a five out, and they can’t even generate any three-point shots because I’m not sure what kind of shots are looking for.

Kd showing once again that he can’t beat LeBron on even footing. Steph showed it in last year’s playoffs. Kd showing it this year. Even old man Bron owns those clowns.

He’s so strong and he’s utilizing it even more now. He’s going through people like it’s nothing.
What a performance. It’s incredible how he looks.
FGM at the Rim
Giannis: 7.1 FGM — 77.0 FG%
Zion: 6.7 FGM — 64.4 FG%
LeBron: 6.3 FGM — 80.3 FG%
That’s the top 3, the only guys making more than 6 shots in the area per game.
LeBron is 236 minutes from becoming the man who has played the most in NBA history, and he’s still doing this. I am really starting to get just confused by him because it’s making no sense.

It makes sense given how much time/money LeBron has put into keeping his body in shape over the years and being closer to fully healthy now compared to the second half of last season when he wasn't. Bret Favre was still running around and playing like an mvp at age 40 15 years ago. LeBron given his baseline genetics and how much effort plus nutrition(most likely including various peds which I don't have a real issue with) should still be great at age 39. It's not really surprising to me tbh.

Favre was an outlier athletically for sure. There are certain guys like that.
But as a pure athlete, we’re in uncharted territory right now with year 21 LeBron still looking like this. An outlier among outliers. I’m sorry but no amount of “he takes care of his body, he spends so much money on his body, he definitely takes PEDs, he’s lucky genetically…” can explain LeBron. So he’s the only athlete taking care of his body these days lol? Dude was a freak at 16 and is a freak at 39. It’s just something we’ve never seen and will likely never see again.

Favre to me is more of an outlier durability wise. Athletically he was good but I wouldn't say outlierish except in the specific things that make qbs great which goes beyond basic athleticism into things like throwing the ball. idk what else to tell you because to you it doesn't make sense but to me it does. So there's not much else to be said. It will be much more impressive though if he can keep it up for 70+ games and then have a strong playoffs. If it's 20 impressive games followed by minor injuries and missing the playoffs it won't really mean as much.

Glad it makes sense to you haha. It’s just awesome to see him still look like this. Hopefully he stays healthy and the Lakers figure out the right identity

I don’t think our shot quality from three has been particularly bad, well shoot better there as the year goes on
We probably take more midrange shots than the average team but generally I’ve liked the shots we’ve gotten, a lot of it is from bron and AD but we’re the most effecient team in the paint so far behind the Nuggets right?
Our shooting is annoying to gauge but at the end of the day I’m not too worried about Reaves and Dlos jump shots, hopefully ruis sustains though.

Re: The LeBron James - 23-24 Regular Season Thread - (Part 1) (NO BAITING & NO INSULTING)
What a great throwback LeBron v KD showdown. These past few duels send me back to 2012-14 when everyone thought we were witnessing the next Magic v Bird. Shame OKC didn't get the job done in 13-16, the Warriors blew up and KD took the bait and joined them. I truly think we were robbed of an iconic rivalry that probably would have pushed Bron to take the reg season a bit more seriously had KD started to catch him up on accolades/career pts. Oh well.
My favorite non-Finals games from LBJ vs KD have to be:
- 38 piece at OKC in 2013, multiple jumpers, continued historic stretch of +30ppg on +%60
- 2014 january game at Miami, KD won that duel and secured the MVP but they had an amazing back and forth.
- 2012 Christmas day Finals rematch went down to the wire but won by Miami
- 2016 Christmas Day vs super Warriors

These are big issues for sure as Lakers are at a possession disadvantage almost every game and score deficit every game after 1 quarter though they did start off well, i.e., up 9-3 in this last game.
Lakers’ FGA deficit
Lakers’ FGA per 100 possessions: 84.2 (29th in the NBA)
Lakers’ opponents’ FGA allowed per 100 possessions: 92.1 (2nd most in the NBA)
Per 100 possessions deficit: -7.9 FGA (getting close to outlier bad)
This statistic right here by itself would explain why the Lakers have a -6.0 NRtg and have an expected PYTH record of 3-6 (close to 2-8). If a team is allowing an opponent 8 more shots every 100 possessions, then it has to do a few things exceptionally well to be able to have a winning record, and even then, it’s going to be really hard. Take a look at NBA teams and how they were doing as far as field goal attempt advantages or disadvantages.
