Cp3 had the arm injury excuse against La last year but their Poa defense was giving him hell. Hes had a worse series against Dallas than even that one

Suns just need to stabalize themselves. Even going into the half down by 18 would be a victory at this point. You can come back from large deficits. Dallas offense is very prone to cold stretches but they need to start executing on the offensive end.

about that....

Suns defense finally caved in final few minutes. It is basically impossible to play defense constantly off of missed shots.

This is why small guards can rarely ever lead you to a title. Even Steph is 6'3 and really strong with alot of muscle put on over the years

Mismatch hunting works in the playoffs.....but the further and further you get. More stout defenses. Less mismatches to exploit. Cp3 couldnt score against Jrue at all in finals was mostly getting off when Jrue was on Devin and vice versa

Hes always had this issue even in prime. When he cant hunt mismatches and is forced to score on great set defenses with good perimeter defenders he gets far more conservative and timid and ppl wonder why he isnt scoring more...... but then he'lll abuse an easy matchup like a horrible Pelicans defense being defended by rookies and Cj Mccollum while getting 7ft of space on open jumpers against Jonas drop defense and all of a sudden pOinT gOd........

Utag also had this problem.

But yeah, just horrid offense from the Suns.

Dallas D has looked good, but it hasn’t felt suffocating or anything, unsure how to balance that.

Luka and Dinwiddie are the ONLY players for Dallas which have made multiple FGs... and they're winning by 30. Outside of those two, Dallas is 3-18 from the field.

This is just a complete collapse from Phoenix offensively.

This reminds me of CP3's last game as a Clipper, that complete ass-whooping in Game 7 against the Jazz. I wonder if he'll throw another on-court tantrum and start screaming at his teammates like he did that game or if he's finally matured at age 37.

I turned the game on hyped for a barnburner. After about 18 minutes of game time - I don't know if I was hypnotized or what, but I swear this is true - I thought, wow, can't believe my Knicks made it this far in the playoffs.

Phoenix is playing embarrassing basketball. The worst criticism I can think of is that I genuinely thought I was watching the Knicks for 3/4ths of the half.

about that....

I can't believe the Suns only have 27 points. Dallas is not the 2004 Pistons. Hell it shouldn't be possible today to hold someone down to 27 points. The 2022 Magic would have more than this.

And yeah I defend Paul but this is a terrible game for him. A terrible game for Booker. And Monty should get some tough questions about what happened tonight because his team flat didn't show up for an elimination game.

I'm a Paul guy but tonight's a night he needs to know to shut up. You can't ride your teammates asses when you're playing awful. And he's doing nothing out there.

George Hill outplayed him on both ends that game

Cp3 has had a history of poor game 7s. 15 Spurs was his only truly great one

I might be a homer here, but I think Dallas' D has been absolutely incredible this game.

Yup, that's my takeaway. Dallas offense wasn't playing that great until the final few minutes. Phoenix defense held up reasonably well since they were constantly defending off of made shots but their offense just gave nothing.

He was absolutely putrid in that Jazz Game 7 too. And that was after nearly choking Game 6 away with turnovers down the stretch. Still didn't stop him from blaming everybody else. Just one of many reasons why I soured on CP3 when I actually used to be a big fan in his Hornets and early Clippers days.

No question they're playing out of their mind but when a team is at 27 points at that half that is an offensive indictment. Monty should also get some blame here. What in-game adjustments was he making to generate better offense?

Dallas's defense deserves some credit but I'm not sure you can explain 27 points in a half other than simply choking.
