Hawks management did a great job of getting win now players to surround Trae and not trying to stay bad to collect more picks. This type of season is not just good for the team and fans it’s great for traes development.

Great direction they went in.

The Cam Reddish hype is going to be insane this offseason and I'm here for it

Deandre Hunters hype should be more insane. He.was looking beastly before he went down

Damn not really Nba but Canada failed to qualify for Olympics again. Haven't been there since Nash was playing for them. Even without Sga or Murray that's insane with the talent and coaching they have

Canada hasn't had that great of a basketball culture in general. You can put some talent out there, but the team lacked many of the qualities that makes great teams. It was pretty much the same in Nash days. They're only ranked #21 by FIBA.

Big congrats to the Bucks, was pulling for them. And props to the Hawks for getting further than I think anyone expected. Sure they'll have some questions/moves/hopes for improvement to be real contenders but for now just take in the season they came off of.

What is the status on Giannis for the finals?

Looking like he'll give it a go game 1. If they're not super confident in what they see during shootaround, game 2 then? What % of Giannis we'll be getting, that I have no clue lol.

I know he came back from a knee issue to play through some discomfort in the regular season against the Celtics in one of those same opponent B2Bs and he was awful in those 2 games and then promptly missed another string of games. Hopefully that's not the case here

Chris Paul in full control on Game 1. He knows the championship is near. 8-)

Absolutely phenomenal performances from both Paul and Ayton.

Suns are clearly superior, really doubt this series goes past 5 games.

Glad to see Giannis looked pretty healthy for game 1. Bucks looked better with their smaller lineups, Brook got in a lot of trouble defensively. CP3/Ayton in particular looked great. Some hot FT shooting made it look a little less close than it 'was' in a sense. Hoping we get a great series out of this one.

Ayton is a unicorn rim runner. He doesn't do anything stupid, he can make small switch teams pay and he can guard everyone.

I am not sure if there is another rim runner like him. The only other guys are like Davis who are much more of their own shot creators.

I like Ayton quite a lot, but some of it is certainly playing next to CP3. It's hard to do much stupid as the roll man when CP3 is your point guard.

Rough start for the Bucks, I think they have to play Jrue on Paul more, as he's the only one who gave Paul some problems in this game.

Bucks can adjust though and they lost this game basically by bad run in the 3rd quarter. I don't think Lopez was the problem on defense, Paul cooked everyone he had in front of him. Brook was certainly better than Portis and at least he gave Bucks solid offensive production.

As I said - Bucks can adjust and I doubt it will be a short series. We will see though.

This is the first finals in a while where I genuinely don't care who wins and don't dislike either team, and have interest in watching and man I can't say how refreshing it is.

Bucks losing after going 16-46 from 3 is concerning, I thought they played well it's just Phoenix was spectacular

is not that below league average 3 point shooting?

i actually thought Phoenix had a near "perfect" game. most of their players shot well, their big 3 all had great games at the same time, they got (imo) a favorable whistle and shoot hyperefficiciently from the line

i am not sure the other games will go so well for them again but lets see

my impression watching is that jrue inpact was mínimal in defense cause he was put in a pick nearly everytime making his defense disappear

i have been getting my mouth shut by López all post season long but i really thought switching so much your slow 7 footer into talented guards was a bad choice. is just not the best way to use a bit defensively here imo, guarding guards in space all game long is not putting him in a position to be effective

if you are gonna switch everythingh anyway why not just go "small" (as small as giannis at 5 can be) ?
