Officiating in this game so far has certainly been interesting

Why are we so convinced that Butler is the Heat's best player again? Why do we just dismiss Bam, who's a 20 ppg scorer in his own right, and is one of the best defenders in the league, as well as one of the best passing bigs in the league? How are we so convinced that Butler is better than a player like that, especially with how inconsistent offensively Butler is?

And I know for damn sure who's looked like more of an MVP for the Heat this series, and it ain't Butler, not even close. Has Butler even been the best player for the Heat in either of the last two rounds? Caleb Martin pretty clearly outplayed him in the last round too, and if we're talking overall, Tatum thoroughly outclassed him in the last round too until he got hurt.

Hope this puts the "playoff Jimmy" narrative to bed. He's a good player, has some big time playoff performances, but he's also got plenty of duds...just like any "good" player will have.

More relevant to the top 100, but after Nash, Paul, Stockton, and Kidd, I am not sure any point guard has been as good at age 37 as Kyle Lowry.

Only other guys I can think of off the top who were real contributors semi-recently were '06 Payton and later career Fisher.

Jokic utterly dominant in the 2nd half. Nice to see a 1st-time champion, though that might be the last hurrah for Butler/Bam

Best game of the year.

Congrats to Denver. They earned that championship.

Jokic just capped off imo a season that's on par with anything LeBron or Jordan ever did. He's that freakin' good.

Easy money.

And strong work by the Nuggets closing out. Didn't wind up feeling seriously challenged all playoffs, we'll see how much they can bring back and if they can really start the climb to dynasty.

Jokic is a monster. Amazing seeing the game evolve in real time before our eyes.
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

Jokic demolished the Heat in ways that all these other "stars" with pretty numbers through fouls and dunks, and flashy step back J's just couldn't manage to do at all. The gap between he and whoever is #2 is massive right now.

Because there's no argument for Bam being better? All the metrics support Butler.

So you bring up Tatum's injury and ignore Butler's injury? Butler was pretty poor in the finals despite likely being limited a bit, but they don't get to the finals without his play.

If he didn't go supernova vs the Bucks, they likely get eliminated in the 1st round.

Jimmy has the big box-scores and the memorable games, but the longer term impact type data does seem to point to Jimmy/Bam being approximate equals on the Heat during their time together.
