He has done absolutely everything in this game, without exaggeration. When you can guard Chris Paul and Devin Booker on the perimeter, defend the rim, and score like Shaq, that's having an impact on the game that few games in history have matched.

You don't have to slander KD to prop up Giannis

I'm not slandering KD. Is it slander to say a game where Giannis literally did everything is better than a game where KD... didn't?

The only blemish here is you can say he got a friendly whistle. But what he did on defense just way more than makes up for it.

Saying that my goodness. I'm not sure I remember a finals game quite this dominant, and that's including Lebron games. Maybe I'm missing one but Giannis is literally everywhere doing everything and I don't recall anything quite like it.

This game felt like LeBron's 4th quarter in Game 6 against the Spurs in 2013, except for the whole entire game. Giannis just made plays after plays like that iconic LeBron sequence in that quarter where he blocked Duncan and scored on him at the other end. He just did it for the whole game instead of a quarter.

Absolutely insane performance.

Durants game is on the short list of greatest games ever.

Giannis is on the list with 1 game ever on it.

:o best game ever?

No, but its up there. Certainly up there with LeBrons 2018 Finals Game 1 for the last decade+.

Giannis obv should win POY considering there’s no other even remotely reasonable choice all things considered

Super pumped the Bucks got this one, my 2nd preference to win this one behind Utah. Giannis with a spectacular series and an even better closing game.

Great season for the Suns, hope the young guys continue to grow and stay together for a long time.

How’s it an overreaction? It feels pretty appropriate to say the back-to-back MVP winner who just had one of the most dominant Finals series of all time and the best overall postseason performance of any player this year is now the best player in the league.

I think if I voted I'd still have Jokic as POY, and think this shows the idea of winning bias pretty well. Giannis may be the best player in the world, Jokic may be too but his team wasn't in the right position. Every year this same thing happens and it doesn't matter who really was best, it ends up being best player on the best team almost every time. And it's why in part I think saying "X is the best player" isn't really accurate. But the winning bias is always strong, even though it may be Giannis (frankly thought he may have been it last year but his team lost so nobody cared).

It always is after a new title.

Yep, before this series started I'd have taken a healthy LeBron, KD, and Leonard, and would have had him neck and neck with Curry and Harden. This series doesn't change that, just solidifies him as an all-time great and without a doubt a top 5 player in the league but the league is loaded.

With all due respect to those players, I don't think any could have done what Giannis just did in this series at this moment in time.

This may have been his crowning moment.

He just had a finals performances arguably as good as any of Lebron's, Jordan's, etc.

He was that special.

Will say, decent chance we're going to game 7 if Giannis doesn't have his best FT shooting game (probably) ever.

Yeah I think I misspoke. Might well be the best playoff game ever, not just finals.

Honestly, in the moment it honestly feels like it's slightly (but clearly) better than any Finals game ever. He was absolutely everywhere.

The feeling will change with rewatches, but yeah.

If you didn't have him as the best player in the league before the Finals started then to me it's an overreaction. I mean even after Brooklyn lost the series, most people including me had KD as the better player. But to each their own.

I've never treated POY as 'best player' it's 'best player season' to me, and it's very difficult for me to say Jokic had a better season than Giannis.

Kevin Durant has missed most of the last two seasons. Kawhi Leonard can't play back to backs. They don't belong above Giannis.

He was special, he was great. But one series does not make it for me. Before the Finals started I didn't have him as the best player in the league.

Lol this is weird, I wanted Giannis to win this over CP3 pretty badly but now I am having to defend myself against not having him as the best player in the league.

Over a month ago some here including me questioned if hed finished top 5 in Poy (Jokic, Embiid, Steph, Kawhi, Luka). Obviously kawhi ended up getting hurt but now Giannis is gonna win Poy prolly by a landslide. Receny bias is critical in Poy voting.

Giannis is the definite POY but POY does not = best player in the league.

Bron and KD, Leonard before him too.
