Yeah, and the guy I was talking about is still available. He's not even the best point guard available right now. :D

The best pg available right now, at least on my list, I just didn't want. Not good enough a shooter.

And I have no idea who you must be talking about. I think Notanoob was also talking about Stockton, but who knows, maybe I was the only one out of us 3 lol

Oh, it seems that we're finally on the same page, because I'm sure I know who you're talking about.

God damn I am about overdraft a guy by 4 rounds and I have a terrible feeling he'll get stolen from me before my turn.

People are overrating the hell out of recent players!!!

I certainly have good back up plans if I didn't get Stockton.

I'm so mad that Sheed is gone. He's a perfect fit next to a dominant center. He can post up nicely, protect the rim like a C and plays solid D, and can space the floor with his jumper, all the way out to three point range. He's got it all. But he can't be the #1 guy, it just isn't in his blood. So putting him next to Ewing will be fantastic.

I was talking about Stockton as one of the guys I was stunned to see fall, but I figured the separation between him and the next best PG I could get wasn't as enormous as the difference between Rodman and well...everyone in history ever.

I just assumed that Stockton had 0 chance of falling to me, so I was considering who else I could grab. I'm happy with my choices.

That said 0_6 has practically got this game won from the start. That team is incredible.

Melo? Surprising pick, but he'd form a really formidable wing tandem with prime Wade.

Oh, and I just became conscious of Sheed's existence after he was taken by 0_6, seriously I just forgot about him, but then it pissed me off a bit because I realized than he'd be just what I need with Zo inside. Instead, he'll be paired with another Hoya - Pat Ewing.

I think he'd do great personally. Has pretty much every thing you would need to guard Durant.

He won't be the inefficient chucker he's been in NY. He would be the spot up shooter getting shots off the pick and roll, he's devastating in that role, he's played that a bit last year and in the Olympics.

I think my rebounding is really solid. Defense is alright, but I got two shut down players on the perimeter in Wade and Marion. And if everything goes right, I'll get a 3rd such player with my next pick.

Just three guys picking ahead of me and I'm looking to take a guy who'd be a really big steal at this point. I've really changed my mind a bit, since I wanted a different player before, but this guy is just too good to pass up on him. I'm a little worried that one of these three guys (ardee, specifically :) ) may nab him before me. Well, he'd be a great fit on DHodgkins' team as well...We'll see.

I think Stockton was the last true 'steal', in that he was clearly a tier above the rest of the players available. it seems that everyone remaining is pretty close in talent. there's still a ton of good players left.

Back to Stockton: as I mentioned, I really thought about drafting hoim with my 3rd pick. It was between him, Gino and a 3rd guy. Stockton would have been great to my team, but
- there are still some nice PG's left on the board,
- there are some nice SG's as well, but in the end, I reckoned that there are slightly less of them... and Gino is really an intriguing player
- and in the end, what swayed me away from Stockton was the fact, that he is somewhat "penalized" in this format... I mean, the spectacular thing about him is that he was so STEADILY GOOD for SUCH A LONG TIME... so his Top30 status on those All-Time lists is not primarily because of his peak. But that's exactly what counts in this format. It is REALLY, REALLY hard to even determine, which is the 3-year prime of John Stockton! I think that's the main reason why he felt, although objectively ha still had to be taken from the middle of the 3rd round.

I don't know whitehops, I feel like there is still a steal or two to be made.

Ok gimme an hour or so to mourn on the passing of Andrei Kirilenko. I was totally set to take him and then this happens...

I'll pick in a bit guys.

It stinks that AK47 is gone, but there are alternatives. I can't wait to see what you do ardee though. Maybe pair Nash up with some other former teammates of his?

I was torn up on taking Stockon, Manu and Gilmore.

Manu dropped out because I figured I had the best shot at getting him in the next round, even though I wanted him a bit more than the other two. I also had Sidney as one of my back up plans, but he got taken around the time Manu did.

Stockton vs GIlmore was really close. I was almost certain I wouldn't get John back. I went with Gilmore because of the parity of centers at the time.
