Kinda relieved it sounds like Rondo is out the door. Somebody was gonna have to lose out on minutes between Schroder, Caruso & Rondo and I'm afraid it wouldn't have been Rondo if he stayed. I think people that are sad to lose him are looking at him with champagne-colored championship glasses. He came up big in moments, but he also had some real stinkers and regular season Rondo is just infuriating at times. I'm pretty confident Schroder and Caruso can give the Lakers everything they need at the position.

All that said, if he goes to the Clippers and they turn it around and playoff Rondo burns them in the playoffs, it's gonna sting lol.

This thread is apparently much busier than the General Thread on this board.

Klay Thompson just tore his ACL again.

I wonder if this changes anything for Dwight. Seemed like him going to GSW had some momentum, but maybe that changes if Klay is out again.

Kinda crazy how we went from a narrative of "reloaded Warriors, supercharged Bucks lineup, and Big 3 Nets" to "Klay out again, Bogdan never agreed to a sign & trade, and doesn't sound like Nets are getting Harden" in like 24 hours. Wild swings - probably will change a lot again in the next few hours.

They had amazing injury luck for 4 years (15-18). Devil coming to collect

Wouldn't say amazing outside of 2014-15 tbh.

Warriors had a golden run of greatness, injury luck and refs for that period of time. Was crazy to see.
splash bro’s weren’t competing anyway this season. Wonder if Steph will play this year or sit with broken fingernail again.

Anyway. Bogdan not going to bucks. He could possibly want the kings (luka) which would free up gallo.

Lakers benefit. Warriors wanted Dwight and Bradley in anticipation of a title run. May now face one less competitor for re-signing their own FA depending what direction the Warriors choose for this season

 Through their run, almost nobody asked for more money and people took discounts left and right. Draymond gave them huge discounts, honestly. I don’t think there’s ever been a player with a higher CORP/RAPM wins per dollar ratio.

If Klay is out (I’m doubting that he is), then at least we’ll get to see Curry go full season having to carry the team and that could provide some really fun games. No way they can sit and hide Curry for a whole season again.

It’s funny what LeBron’s versatility in creating winning margins does as far as roster construction is concerned. Both Howard and Bradley were considered washed (take a look at Bradley’s defensive numbers the last few seasons and how Clippers’ fans lambasted him just two seasons ago), Rondo was trash (still was for the majority of two seasons), KCP was trash and even Laker fans hated him though he wasn’t all that bad, but since LeBron can cover so many weaknesses, weaker overall players can play a defined role (and stay in that role which every single Laker player did all year) and help in winning and the Lakers players did that so well this year.

It’s funny how fast muh “LeGM” posts go up, but almost no credit to the winning culture and tight knit locker room created on the Lakers. Also, for all the Portability enthusiasts (credit to @Jordan Syndrome), regardless of roster construction and regardless of NBA era and how the game is played, you can be a title contender with James with vastly different rosters and around him with him playing different roles.

Gallo likely not going to Dallas in a S&T because OKC will probably have to rescind his rights

He could repeat his playoff performance again, but I’m doubtful. He’s been terrible defensively and was terrible defensively in the playoffs (Lakers were 7.1 points per 100 possessions worse defensively with him on court in the playoffs) but the Lakers made shots when he was in and of course he had a role in that (along with AD seemingly making every midrange jumper teams wanted him to take). He did have very good synergy with everyone offensively and was more decisive with the ball.

Zero doubt that he’ll tank a team defensively (especially if he’s taking Beverly’s minutes), offense dependent on if this three point shot from 28 feet is reliable or not.

I think a 10%—20% chance max he repeats this year’s playoff run offensively.

I guess I'm in the minority here but the Lakers should worry way more about the potential ramifications of their moves on their defense than their offense.

I prefer the Lakers that crushed their opponents on defense because they had to, over the Lakers that'll blow teams out and then subsequently coast on defense.
Losing Bradley, Green and KCP, maybe Dwight too, at once is gonna be brutal on Lebron and AD if they plan to win a lot of games.

I dont even know if there is another spot for Dwight now, tbh. GSW is probably gonna need to spend some money (+tax) to get a decent SG. Doubt they're gonna be ok with 20 mil out of pocket going to Dwight

Lmao f*** Golden State getting role players to stay for cheap. It's all because Curry was underpaid that guys felt comfortable taking lesser deals. Sucks what happened to Klay tho
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

So GS who lost their 2nd best player and has likely ruined their finals chances (assuming ACL or achilles) is going to go for an aging vet in Dwight to compete for minutes vs Wiseman and Looney?

Wth are you talking about

Dwight to GS doesn't make sense

Nothing spectacular, but could this mean this Palinka is trying to free up cap to resign KCP/Bradley/Dwight on bigger deals?
