For his era, Pre-Russell Cousy was actually above league average efficiency for most of his career (peaking at 105 TS+). This kind of efficiency is comparable to guys like Morant and Doncic, who shoot a lot in order to apply pressure and get teammates open.

The lower FG% is partly a result of the era. It was extremely difficult to get towards the rim with a good look, which is why most half court shots in 50s footage end up being contested jumpers. I think Cousy, aided by his dribbling ability, was able to penetrate more which resulted in difficult shots. This hurt his FG% but also allowed him to create for teammates more consistently than anyone in the 50s.

It's similar to how Doncic says it's harder to score in the EuroLeague compared to the NBA because of the rules and playstyle, even though the latter has better players.

Cousy's athleticism is also underrated. He's quick on film and in some sources you can find mentions regarding his unusually large hands and long arms for a man his size. These physical attributes helped with his dribbling and stealing abilities.

I have sources that say Zach Lavine will be a Sixer soon.

Just as expected, the Warriors come out flat and are down big. At this point, we just have to accept that this is who they are.

refs still giving GSW that special T treatment lol.

Green instigates something when Bullock wasn't even standing over him, and some how Finney-Smith gets a technical foul. Come on now.

god knows i am not a warriors fan but i think you are a bit too low on them at times, they have probably shown the second highest ceiling in the playoffs of the teams left after boston and have more experience than them too

is not even impossible they end up winning this game

I don't even care if it comes off as whiney anymore. Certain teams and certain players are simply allowed to play by different rules at times, and the NBA's image suffers so long as this stuff goes on. Any other player but Draymond would have been thrown out by now.

They just have way too much variance. And I'm not talking about shooting either. Their effort and focus waxes and wanes. They can look like world-beaters one game and then go down 55 the next in a close out game.

the problem with his suspension in 2016 finals was that it was the only one in the playoffs :D

draymond is one od those players who is allowed to play rougher than everyone else even with a history of hurting players, and is so weird

Any player that pushes the envelope pretty much gets what he wants. Players like Dray, Smart and Pat Bev get away with contact that the average player have no hope of getting away with. Harden and Embiid get away with foul baiting that refs turn a blind eye to when officiating any other player. Pretty much how the NBA functions.

This is the 3rd 70 point half in the playoffs, yeah? 2 by the Mavs. Pretty impressive to do it twice to two separate high seed playoff teams.

What is Draymond's net rating these playoffs?

I feel like he's been terrible offensively.

All while Draymond is shouting "that's bulls**t" right in the face of the referee... :-?

i hate when luka settles into stepback 3's instead of runninh a play first

there is a reason teams let him take that shot, he is not good enough at them to settle so much for it

Hm..do they have more experience? Pretty much everyone in the Celtics has been in many playoff series except Time Lord. Outside of the Warrior's big 3 I don't think any of the Warriors have much playoff experience. Tatum is one of the youngest players on the team and he had already nearly been to the finals as a rookie.

Celtics are a very seasoned team. Horford himself been around forever too.

Not a coincidence that Warriors went on a run with him on the bench. Looney at least will take lay-ups.

next quarter is huge for dallas

i know they are coming from a 0-2 comeback, but the hardness of their upset going to dallas 1-1 is a lot lower thsn of they go to texas down 0-2

kind of being capitan obvipus here but this next quarter may decide how the series goes

Dallas just has 0 rim protection. Looney is getting such easy baskets off guard penetration and any time GS gets an offensive rebound, it's immediately put back in.
