Just can't afford to miss any minute of Curry's play. Yesterday I had to go out in the 2nd quarter so I paused the game and left my cellphone in the dark so that the apps wouldn't tell me the result. Then I came back later to rewatch from where I left off. And he exploded in the 3rd! I am truly hoping his magical streak never ends. 8-)

And this is why I started posting here. I'm trying to convince some friends of mine to drive to Milwaukee to bear witness to greatness. Me: "You don't understand, it is imperative that we make this pilgrimage."

I really enjoyed this exchange, and I've had the same conversation with my friends about going to see him on Saturday. You seriously feel like you're missing out on an experience if you can't catch a game.

I will say I'm beginning to understand a lot of the Jordan fanaticism I see. I have to imagine this is what it was like when Jordan-mania was in full swing, and when people on this forum say "You wouldn't get it if you weren't around", I appreciate that sentiment now. Curry has become an event unto himself.

I think it's important to maintain objectivity, but as a separate thing man am I gonna enjoy this for what it is.

I'm definitely in awe seeing Curry dominate games the way he does night in and night out, but I'd never imagine so many people are euphoric over watching a one man three-point shooting contest every game. At least visually.

A lot of the makes are really ridiculous in terms of how no matter the space, angle, balance he still finds a way to wheel and deal his way into that tiny air space he needs to knock down the shot. Not that Curry just represents this as a player, but I don't find watching 15 three point shots per game all that exhilarating, even if he makes 10 of them. Maybe he's spoiled me? Idk. Or maybe I just prefer when a guy gets by 3 people himself and jams it on the Big man's face for an and1, or when he makes a block shot out of nowhere, even if he does it once every game instead of 10 times like Curry and his threes.

Most of you I imagine, lucky guys who live in the US, you have to do whatever you can to watch this guy live. For yourselves and for us, die hard NBA fans from all around the world, the have-nots. What Curry is doing is trully special.

Hey, at least you get to watch the games live without having to be awake until 4 AM or so.

East coast games start at 1 or 2 AM for me. West Coast 3 or 4 AM. And yeah, sleeping a couple of hours before the game starts doesn't really work.

Yeah, for Europe you have this issue. Most of the dayround of games is easier to watch here in Brazil, as the games by this time of the year start around 10 p.m. , brazilian time. However, the Warriors home games are a little tougher to watch live for us, because they start at around 01:30 a.m. and they usually finish around 4:00. You have the advantage to watch at least the Warriors home games early in the mourning, right?

As a lover of odd stats and statistical anomalies I thought I'd share some of these expertly cherrypicked facts I've found regarding Steph Curry so far this season -

DISCLAIMER - As I said this is an exercise in cherrypicking and finding obsurdities, I'm not saying any of these numbers prove Steph is the GOAT, let's just have some fun with it shall we?

1)In Hunt of the single season 3pm record - (most of this you've probably read posted before but it must be stated)
Through 22 games Steph Curry currently has 116 makes from 246 attempts. Thats .471%, which happens to be the exact % Deandre Jordan shot from the line last year. That many 3s at that % has only been achieved 10 times before over the course of a season, let alone in 22 games. Only Kyle Korver has done it twice.

At 5.3 made per game, only 65 players make more fgs in a game this season. That's 2 players per team

At this pace he will
a)Break his own record in 54 games in just over 600 attempts (40 less than taken last year). That's just 2 games after the all star break.
b)Assuming he plays all 82 he would hit 432 total 3s for the season. That's a 50% increase, on an all time record and on pace to hit more 3s than the Heat, Timberwolves and Nets.

Now just for a second we should spare a thought for Paul George, who is on pace for 276 3 pointers made for the season, which would be the 3rd best of all time. He's already 52 made 3s behind Curry!

2) 6,7,8,9,10,11...12?
Maybe the most astounding thing about this run is that Curry hasn't broken the single game 3 pointers made record of 12. Then again maybe not considering whenever he is on pace he ends up sitting out the 4th quarter.

Already this season Curry has hit 6 or more 3s 8 times. Next best is Kyle Lowry with 4. The most in a season is 15, by... Steph Curry, in fact the last 3 years he has done so 14, 15 and 13 times.

What's that, 6 in a game isn't THAT special?

Okay so how about 7 or more? 7 times. Only PG and C.J. Miles have managed it more that once this season, and only George McCleod has done so more in a single season (10 times). Curry again, did so 8 times last season. He has already caught up with himself!

Oh, still not good enough?

Lucky number 8! 8 threes a game? 6 times, yep, 6 times this season. Only C.J. Miles, PG and Wes Mathews have managed to even do that once. And most games in a season? Well, it's 6. By Steph Curry... and George McCleod. Yep, that's right, 22 games in he's done something only one other person has done over the course of a season.

9 times? well that's just boring, twice in 22 games has Curry managed. But then, only 4 other players have ever done it twice in 82 games, and only 7 have done so twice or more in their careers. Curry has the most 9+ games in his career, with 9.

3) Flipping the switch
How many times already have we seen Curry take over a game in a single quarter, or even just a few minutes? I know I ould hardly contain myself just watching the play by play on my phone at work last week.

So how about big quarters,

Well, Steph Curry has scored 20 or more points in a quarter 5 times this season. 1 more than the Russell Westbrook scored all of last season.

I've searched everywhere but I havn't been able to find all time records for most 20 point quarters. I'm guessing it would be Wilt by quite away.

YES! Love the Wallace-Federer reference. That is precisely the situation.

Tennis is my other favorite sport, and I'll say there: Djokovic may well end up the superior player to Federer's peak, but there is an elegance to Federer's game that's totally unmatched.

I've long felt the same way about Nash in the NBA. The Suns could have won a title, and those who think otherwise are just silly, but the reality is that when you factored in offense & defense, a guy like Duncan had more impact than Nash and so it simply makes sense for the Suns to come up short despite the fact that Nash played the game in a way that transcended what the sport is.

Now we've got Curry who has the same thing going on, except he's got the power to actually be the best too. Whenever the most elegant player is also the best, it's a recipe for a sport's golden age. It's why people are so nostalgiac about the '80s with Bird & Magic.

It's a good time to be a basketball fan.

yeah. Now it was a little different because the team I rooted for(the Mavs) was so awful during most of Jordan's career, but when he came to Dallas it was like the Beatles coming to America for the first time--only every single time. I probably attended 80% or so of Mavs home games in the 90's--got married in 99 and so naturally that ended just as Dirk was arriving. :( I was good friends with the sister of the guy who ran the Mavs Jumbotron at Reunion and it was never an issue him being able to get us tickets and the ushers would always let us move up to the best seats so I got to watch some terrible, terrible basketball from the 3rd or 4th row. But obviously never a Bulls game.

And because I love basketball so much and the Bulls games were all available on basic cable on WGN I would watch pretty much all the Bulls games so I could see good basketball. Now I never was a Mike guy. As you know I was a Pippen fan and a Nique fan(for the dunk contests which were actually cool then plus I was still pretty young when he and Mike were really going at it.

But yeah he was a show. We all know we were watching something special that we might never see again. And yeah Curry feels like that too. It's different--and my perspective is different, but we all really need to make sure we appreciate this. And not just him, but that whole team.

All the Warriors go cold and Paul George has the game of his life. It could happen.

Selfishly, I want the streak to last until Saturday.

Ok, forget what I said. Indy already shooked by a Klay & Curry +30 point quarter barrage.
