He played on it after the injury. Because he was able to play on it and play well it means that the injury isn't impairing his function.
The reason he is out right now is likely due to swelling and inflammation that they are trying to get down. That inflammation in the foot weakens al areas of the foot increasing the chance for further injury.
He could play right now but he'd have an increased risk of serious injury.
From that perspective, I think there's zero chance he's not playing in the play-in or playoffs if Lakers get there.
We don't know exactly what happened with his foot, but we know that he's in a walking boot riding on a scooter. Hope I'm wrong, but not as optimistic about it
