The game they played this year Lebron had 23/9/7. But it was against the bench of the Spurs. No Duncan, Parker nor Manu nor Green. But most importantly of all, the Spurs when they played the Heat did not have the x-factor, the secret weapon for the series, the guy who will be unleashed vs Miami.

Tracy Mcgrady. :D

Only way Bron gets slowed down is by solid team defense. I woudn''t doubt Pop with 10 days figuring out a gameplan too, but I wouldn't bet on it. There's no one on them like a George who can stay with him. This is why I see this series over in 4, maybe in 5.

No joke, I would love to have seen a prime McGrady with this Spurs team. Athletically, he could have hung with LeBron, that would have been a great matchup.

Tmac had a better 1st step than Paul George and he can actually score and facilitate at a high level. His defense isnt as good but he was great player

Melo is a volume shooter and a better mid range shooter, but LeBorn is a better scorer than Melo.

The only time Anthony was better was their rookie year. Probably 07 as well.

Melo was never a better player than Lebron. He was a better scorer in his rookie year that's about it. Melo is now the fourth best sf in the nba at his peak.

Yeah I meant as a scorer.

He won't go for 80 points on 78% shooting, not that I care to argue for or against exaggerated hypotheticals. Sparring strawmen is an exercise in futility, and boring to boot. In any case, how LBJ plays basketball; his ball dominance and inability to function in a role other than point forward has contributed to Miami's struggles with Indiana, as well he and his teams struggles against others that have served him early exits.

Well. They won. That makes him top 10!!

I'm not making a strawman, I'm just giggling at your analysis that basically says it doesn't matter how LeBron James plays, all that you are looking at is how his team performs.

Perhaps I overestimated you in more ways than one, and if that is so I ask for further forgiveness, but I was pretty clear that more contributed to my opinion than any single game. You may have missed that between giggles.

It was always going to be Grant Hill + one other guy, either Duncan or Tmac. Had Duncan gone to the Magic Tmac would've gone elsewhere, possibly Chicago if memory serves correctly.

Interesting that his efg% was better in the '09 and '10 playoffs than any Miami year. He was on fire from midrange in the '09 playoffs, and shot 40% from 3 in '10.

Jimmy Butler is a better defender than any wing defenders on the Spurs. Unless Bruce Bowen is coming out of retirement, the Spurs will have to double-team LeBron. He won't be hesitant to attack Tim Duncan in the post as he were against Hibbert.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

I was thinking "****, not again" when Lebron airballed that first three, but I'm glad he made that second one. Great start on D and the boards for Lebron.

Really, he's been phenomenal on both ends so far. Making great passes, taking good shots. His only real mistake so far was taking that long 2 in isolation against Kawhi.

Looks very in-control so far. Love his activeness and flying around on the defensive end on passes and on rebounds.

Been very pleased with Wade thus far, and basically the whole rest of the supporting cast (except Bosh, dont really like how hes forcing stuff).

Been a very exciting game to watch so far.

Bad game from Lebronie. What the hell was he doing?

Duncan's still undefeated in Finals game 1's.

The numbers look good, and he wasn't bad, but I felt like he was way too passive in the 4th. And I don't think he was as good as his triple-double numbers indicate. I'm sure the LeBron fanboys and the advanced stat heads will tell me how dumb and wrong I am; but his impact in that game didn't feel as big as his numbers indicate. It's mostly because he never really went into "take over" mode in the 4th quarter, despite it being a nip-and-tuck game.

Lebron played really well on the boards and defensively, but he was ultra passive especially in the 4th. He is too unselfish at times, which is odd because you would think it's great to have a team-oriented/unselfish star.

Lebron had a big game rebounding and got his teammates open shots, but when it came down to it they needed him to score more. His numbers look good of course, but the Heat may not have fallen behind at all if he had been looking for his shot throughout the 4th quarter. So there is blame to be placed on his shoulders, even if it doesn't sound right to say it after looking at that stat line.
