At some point AD has got to get some sort of consistency and stop playing like dumpster fire every 5 games. 6 points 5 rebounds in the game so far. Vogel isn't putting him in good positions, but superstars produce regardless. This is inexcusable, he doesn't have the short off season excuse anymore.

Jesus Christ are they really gonna lost by 30? It's not even like it's one of those games where a team goes 20/41 from 3. Suns haven't even shot many 3s they're just out executing them massively

I don’t know about implosion because everything we saw in the preseason was exactly the same. DONNIEME pointed out astutely early on that the Lakers were one drought and a few subs in every game from being completely wiped off the court and that’s what happened in every preseason game and that’s what’s happening now in the regular season. They do not have a consistent lineup with more than 3 “plus” players, and at this point, AD just isn’t an MVP type.

I’m honestly completely over AD. The Lakers cater to this dude and put together awful rosters because he wants certain guys on the team, and then he’s inconsistent as hell during the games.

What's the point of starting 2 bigs if you're getting dominated in the paint like this.

AD's athleticism looks shot. Clearly not as quick on his feet defensively as he was in 2020 and he's struggling to elevate and finish around the rim. You would never guess that he's only 28.

I wonder if playing through those injuries deteriorated him long term. Why does Bron have such bad luck with the health of his stars? Wade, Kyrie, Love, Ad... Even Bosh the season after he left had a premature retirement due to the blood clots

They need Nunn, Ariza and THT back quick.

Carmelo, Monk can't play together with Westbrook/ Rondo.

The 2 guys that kind of fit (Baze/ Bradley) are pretty damn washed up on both ends. They both are C+ shooters and not really that good on D.

Maybe with some defense and shooting you can let Westbrook figure this thing out without being a dumpster fire. But right now this roster is just really accentuating his weaknesses.

Russ, Avery/Monk/Reeves, Bazemore, Bron, AD
2 of Avery/Monk/Reeves. Melo, Dwight

Maybe some small min for Rondo

I do wonder if Sacramento would be willing to take THT for Hield.

They were willing for Kuzma and Harrell so maybe? But I actually like Kuzma as a role playing wing, played well today (despite how absolute trash he was in the playoffs last year thrust into that bigger role with AD out).

They might need to sacrifice THT and their high hopes for him to save this roster.

AD might be the single most irritating player that LeBron's ever played with. He's so soft and one of the biggest wastes of talent ever, honestly. People have been talking him up his entire career like he's a new-age Tim Duncan, but the substance just isn't there.

To be fair to DJ.

He's a +6 this season on court and the Lakers are -29 total. Him playing the Bogans/ McGee minutes with the starters isn't really the problem.

How is Bazemore washed up on D? He did great on Booker this game and had Steph in hell the first game. He was arguably the 2nd best defender on a top 5 defense just last season

I remember those comparisons and since AD is from my hometown I believed them. But quickly in his career I learned he's really a glorified Chris Bosh. Outstanding player, but more of a super duper #2 than a #1, even though he can because of his talent.

He's a finesse guy that lacks what it takes upstairs to truly lead a team. He and Bron need each other at this stage of brons career.

They wouldve been crazy good in brons prime, I will say that.

CP3 hasn't been on the floor, granted, but this tiny lineup with Bron as the 5 and playing three minus defenders in Brick, Rondo and Melo has somehow been the best they've looked defensively all game.
