I clicked "no" because of the "and rising" part.

I definitely think he's played like a top-10 pg so far this season though. I just don't think he's staying up there for that long.

But Iverson has played PG, this season, several times.

No, the difference is Allen Iverson has played PG many times in Denver. MANY TIMES. You guys are morons, get some critical thinking. Put it this way, if JR Smith wasn't such a bust this season, Allen Iverson would be starting at PG and the line up would be Iverson/Smith/Anthony. Iverson is definitely a PG eligible player. Sure I'd rather have LeBron as my PG, and he did play PG his rookie season.. but I wouldn't count him for a top 10. Iverson, yeah I would count him on a top 10 because he has played a good amount of PG this season and last season.

Put it this way then, I know he's played PG in the past, and you know he isn't playing it right now for Denver and I know that you know that A.I is a natural 2 and that's always been his true position. You know? I know.

He is a 1 or a 2, he plays both positions and should count for the top 10 for both positions, just like Duncan should count for the 4 and the 5 and McGrady for the 2 and the 3.

Nope, disagree. This is not an all-star ballot here, most if not everyone around here counts Duncan as a true PF and McGrady as a 2. Each player should be rated for his natural position. Iverson has played the point this season and in the past, but his game is more suited as a 2 and he should be ranked as one, especially if that's where he is currently playing.

He is both a 1 and a 2. If you ever played basketball competitively you'd understand. And Duncan is a 5 more than a 4, but I can agree with McGrady being ranked as only a 2. So I'm interested to hear what position you think Leandro Barbosa plays..

Ever played competitive basketball huh? Nah, but I've played street ball and I can tell by your posts that you're probably ones of those guys that scream foul on every play. Barbosa is a freaking combo guard, I consider him more of a 2, although he plays the point and 2 for PHX. But naturally I'd say he's a 2 and I wouldn't rank him as a point. Duncan was a PF when he came into the league and if IIRC Oberto plays C for San Antonio right now. Of course Duncan can play the 5, so can Garnett, but I don't consider either a true 5 and that's why whenever there is a PF ranking around here it's always Duncan/Garnett 1/2.

Will Duncan go down as one of the best PF's of all time or best C's of all time?

One of the best PF's of all time. But what separates him from being a 4 or a 5? He plays a lot more like a 5 than 4. Iverson is a combo guard, just like Barbosa, except I consider him more of a 1. I agree with Bosa being more of a 2, even though I believe he gets more minutes at the 1. I consider Iverson being a 1 just because he averages 7 assists a game and handles the ball more than anyone else on the Nuggets. He is the best dribbler and passer on their team. Last time I checked dribbling and passing are the two most key components to being a PG. The only reason you wouldn't rank AI as a 1 is so you can rank your boy Jose higher. Either way Iverson is a better point guard and player than Jose will ever dream of being, so this discussion is pointless.

And btw, I'm sure you know more than NBA.com

http://www.nba.com/fantasy/draft_kit/po ... s1_15.html

The Nuggets and 76ers each have home games Wednesday night and hoped to have their newest players in the lineup. Though the Nuggets said some requirements for physicals and reporting have been waived, Iverson's agent, Leon Rose, said the point guard would not be in the mix for Wednesday.

Oh and by the way, Garnett is definitely not center eligible, more small forward eligible than center.

What does this have to with Iverson vs Jose? Even if I had Iverson in the rankings, Jose would still have been top 10. Iverson is a playmaker, no doubt, but he's a scorer first and made his career being a 2 in Philly. He played P.G out of necessity his last two seasons in Philly, same with Denver. But he's back to his natural position and he's playing his best basketball since he got to Denver.

Duncan plays more like a 5 than 4, so 4's are supposed to have different games from 5's? The only difference is that the 5 has to guard the other teams 5. Al Jefferson is playing out of his natural position in Minnesota, should he be ranked as a 5 or a 4?

Yes, 5's and 4's play differently. See you really don't know much about the game of basketball. You know a lot about the NBA and its players, but you need to learn a little bit about the game and learn how to play it. A center is considered the big man on the court, in play without three in the key calls, the man who camps in the paint on offense and defense. Normally this player would be the biggest player on your squad. And it is funny how you say that SG is his natural position, when his own agent called him a POINT guard.

Fantasy rankings? You can't be serious. Iverson did play the point for the majority of last year with Philly/Denver, so I'm assuming that's why they have him in their PG rankings. Look A.I can play the point, there's no doubt about it, but I don't know how you can deny that he's not a natural 2.

He is a 1 and a 2. He plays both positions. I'm not denying he is a natural 2. He is a 1 and a 2.

And to touch up on the Tim Duncan PF and C argument, the only reason Duncan is playing PF is because he was drafted by the Spurs who had David Robinson, a player who could only play C. So they played him at the PF, but coming into the draft he was considered a C. That is his natural position, but since he has played PF his entire NBA career, he should be considered both a PF and a C. Although C is his natural position.

Edit:

Part of the problem is our definition of a center, one best exemplified by the unusual case of Tim Duncan. Duncan is a dominating low-post player who entered the league as the most coveted center since Shaq. But because David Robinson was the Spurs' starting center when Duncan came to San Antonio, the team called Duncan its power forward. And when Robinson retired in 2003, nobody updated that definition. To this day, the Spurs introduce Duncan as a forward

Theirry, you took my sh-t out of context, a 5 and a 4 are positioned differently, of course they play different spots on the floor. But a 4 and 5 are still both supposed to be able to play in the post and patrol the paint.

Duncan is a 4/5, but most consider him a 4 , as do I. And that's what most people on here rank him as. You even said yourself he'll go down as one of the best PF's of all time. He's one of the rare guys who should be ranked as a 4/5.

I don't care what quotes you can show me, Iverson is a 2, that can play the 1. In my mind, he should be ranked as a shooting guard.
