My next pick: 2011 Tyson Chandler

With the addition of chandler, my defense won't miss a beat when dwight takes a breather. They both share the unique ability to anchor a defense as well as switch onto any player on a per possession basis.

Unfortunately, Doc MJ picks Steve Kerr, one spot before I would take him...(he asked me to select Kerr for him via PM)

My 7th pick is:

2009-10 version. 11/3/5 in 27 minutes per game, 48/41/84 shooting splits, only 8.2 FGAs, combo guard, has the ability to create his own shot, will be a perfect backup for Cheeks, will also get a few minutes as Jordan's backup.

Not being able to draft Kerr turned out to be a blessing in disguise for me. :)

You're up. By the way - I want to play against your team, can't think of a better matchup than Jordan vs Ehlo, especially considering I have the 1989-90 version of Mike, and he dropped 69, 54, 41 and 38 points on the Cavs that year, his average in the 5 games against them was 44.8 ppg. :D

I feel pretty good about Chamberlain vs Mutombo and Pierce vs Bowen matchups, too.

No worries, it's not a big deal, I'm happy with Jack (although I wish I waited with Jack to the 8th round, I'm pretty sure nobody would've taken him, anyway, and there's one guy I REALLY want to have, but I'm worried someone will take him pretty soon...).

Damn, now I'm thinking - who the hell I'm doing? :o You guys will see which position I still have to fortify, and that's already a decent hint. :banghead:

And 1'd because you just took another guy MJ can destroy. :D I mean, Ehlo was the first, now Majerle...Seriously though, Thunder Dan was a pretty good player, nice pick for a bench wing.

Since I am incredible cramped for FGA, I'm taking Thabo Sefolosha (2012) with this pick. Good wing defender for 20 minutes a game, good 3 point shooter playing off stars with huge gravity.

Some really nice picks for low FGA guys, Sefolosha especially.

Starting to see some dying off in the discussion, hopefully people come back around for the playoffs :(

These 7th and 8 picks are going to be fairly tough... Without even more finagling I'll only have 14 FGA left to work with, should be close.

I had 13.5 left with my last two, needing to get a shooter and an on-ball guard. I picked my first one (a solid shooter at 6.1 FGA), and I have my next guy ready too with some FGA to spare.

It's easier than you might think you just gotta keep an open and scour the B-Ref Play Index :D

If it means anything also, look for early or late seasons from guys who were really good in their prime (i.e Paul George, Dan Majerle etc.)

Well realistically at this point the set of GMs is in 2 sets:

-Those who are drafting their final player before your next pick
-Those who won't draft again before your next pick

So odds are pretty low that anyone will be drafting for their team with you in mind. I think you'll be okay. :D

That's why I'm happy I have 17.9 left. I can get a legit star and a good backup wih those type of FGAs left.

There’s a super low volume guy I was planning on picking, but decided to go in a different direction. Solid skill set for his position and had a nice impact on his team. Kinda disappointed I’ll end up passing on him. Wonder if anyone else will pick him up. Sefolosha was another guy I looked at when trying to find guys in that range. Definitely a good pick.

With the 106th Pick in the All Time Fantasy Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers select:

Image

Detlef Schrempf, 1997-98, 11.5 FGA/G
15.8 PTS @ 58.5 TS% (42% on 1.9 3PA/G), 7.1 TRB, 4.4 AST, 0.8 STL, 0.2 BLK, 118 Ortg, 105 Drtg, 18.7 PER, .182 WS/48, +2.9 BPM
16.1 PTS @ 56.8 TS% (14% on 1.4 3PA/G), 7.7 TRB, 3.9 AST, 0.7 STL, 0.1 BLK, 115 Ortg, 114 Drtg, 18.4 PER, .104 WS/48, +0.6 BPM

Another combo forward who shot 3s and could ball handle a bit; also rebounded well for his position. Not the greatest athlete or defender, but a little underrated in both aspects I feel. HIs +8.00 RAPM that year (with +0.97 for DRAPM) was pretty good considering he was a full 35 minute starter, whereas he will be getting less than that on my team. You can't hide a small player on him as he had a post game, and his ability to pass creatively from the post to cutters and shooters will be a valuable part of my bench offense. I think in this era where role players tend to do a bit of everything rather than one thing he'd be viewed as more valuable. I'm basically running a positionless team at this point and he'll get backup minutes at both the 3 and 4 dependent on matchups.

NB - His drop off in the playoffs doesn't fit my team plan, but I made a miscalculation on my FGA total and had to change from '97. The Playoff 3 PT% is an eyesore, but that was him going 2/14 over 10 games, and if you combine his 1997 and 1998 postseasons he's a 41% playoff 3PT shooter; he can shoot, it's just sample size. Much as Jimmy Butler is probably not really a 41% from 3 guy, nor is Schrempf a low percentage option from beyond the arc.

The video below gives you some idea of the variety of his skillset:
