I'll put all 3. Other posters have multiple teams that they are fans of.

Are we going to go to year 1947 or are we stopping like in 50's?

Also are we still planning on doing the ABA?

If the project doesn't lose steam, we'll go back to '47.

ABA & NBA will be done together. We'll be voting for the top 5 players who played in either the NBA or ABA that year.

So guys, re: '09-10 POY. I'm thinking of doing it June 28th to July 5th, Monday to Monday. This seems like a good plan because it will give some time to ruminate, won't go too far into summer, and won't overlap over a break in voting.

If there's enough push back against using the holiday weekend, then I'll probably make that weekend another break from all voting, and start the '09-10 POY on the 5th.

Let me know your thoughts.

the biggest loser today was Bill Russell. winner all his life, but got raped today. he would celebrate 18th title in Staples Center while giving finals MVP to his favorite NBA player. instead, he watched the refs take over the 4th quarter and he had to give his own award to a player who has just shot 6-24 and had 1 ast with 4 turnovers. and now Kobe is showing off to Shaq, another player Bill Russell likes. he demands a f*ckin apology.

It's sad that your understanding of the game does not extend beyond shooting the ball.

I thought Kobe had his best game of the playoffs tonight.

since when, lol ?
overall Kobe had a terrible game. his defense was poor, he made a lot of mistakes and didn't guard Rondo very well, especially in transition in the first half. his defense on Ray Allen was actually even worse. his passing was basically non existent, because he just jacked up shots and when he did make a pass, it was a turnover... and then obviously he lost a lot of possessions on those bricks. I don't how this is anything short from a horrible game.

It's always been Nash.

As for Kobe - his defense was not poor, his job is not to defend Rondo, his job is to disrupt the passing lanes, while keeping an eye on Rondo.

As for Allen, I don't have a clue what you're talking about. Kobe switching onto Allen, IMO, was the turning point of the game.

The Top5 is pretty much set with James, Wade, Bryant, Howard/Durant (in that order). Not quite sure who should be ahead of one of those All-NBA 1st players. You can make a case for Nowitzki over Durant, if the playoff performance is valued much higher, but the Mavericks lost in the 1st round too. But who else had a good enough year?

id put Dirk or Nash over Durant both played better in the playoffs

for me it would be
1. Kobe
2. Lebron-I'd put Lebron first but he really looked like he gave up the last couple games despite the rebounding
3/4. Howard/Nash
5. Dirk

I think that "gave up" argument is bs. Seriously, he played his ass off all season long. There were also strong rumors about his elbow, maybe that was more serious than everyone thought. Afterall we have to take all games into account and James was by far the best in the regular season and first round of the playoffs. Bryant got somewhat bailed out in the 1st round against the Thunder, while picking it up in the next two rounds. His play against the Celtics was imho worse than James', thus I don't see the point of putting Bryant ahead of James.

Btw, where is Wade on your list?
