Then people should projecting/reading into what I said especially when I have clarified myself 10x already.

It's okay, I understand now. We can't point out how great Klay/Curry are at making contested 3s. Apparently that's saying they are lucky or playing iso ball. I don't know, you guys pick.

I think you were just a little loose in your phrasing, and it quickly turned into an argument of semantics. "Video game mode" when describing a player is most certainly a good thing. Similar to calling them "other worldly" as far as I'm concerned. I've used it plenty of times regarding curry over last 2 seasons, and he'll probably be my favorite player in the league once dirk retires.

It would take an absolutely colossal meltdown for Curry and GOAT finals by LeBron for me to even consider putting James ahead, overall. Curry would have to play like LeBron in the 2007 or 2011 finals, and LeBron would have to play like 1991 Jordan or 2000 Shaq, at the same time.

Don't you think in this case, this year, the head to head battle will be really huge deciding the POY? I mean, imagine if the Cavs win against one of the greatest teams ever, and Lebron is the finals MVP, even if Curry does a good enough finals to deflect his blame and Lebron does a "normal" very good finals for him, like 2013 or 2014, don't you think it would be very difficult to spin the narrative away from Lebron this year? My thought process is going like this right now, Curry with a killer regular season and Lebron with the better playoffs so far, may the finals be the tiebreaker.

I'm back to leaning towards Curry for #1. But Lebron can still take it depending on what his ass does. People will probably be rough on Westbrook due to his last couple games, but i think he should be no lower than 3.

JE just tweeted RPM for Finals' teams:

ESPN should update their page today as well.

I'm surprised Irving looks so bad. By eye test he is good in playoffs. Anyone knows what his RPM was at the end of RS?

Kyrie's hurt by his defense, offensive score is almost +2. JE had actually been tweeting about him, how Cleveland's defense has suffered mightily with him on the floor, especially in the postseason.

Internet Archive has his RPM from April 7th as -1.1

Yeah RS + PS through Conference Finals. Iggy loses out due to a weak box-score, he'll rate higher in S-Y & M-Y RAPM.

Just a note: NBAwowy has been having summing issues for Team PTS under the splits (always missing the most recent game if looking at >1 game). Can't confirm that for this set right now, but best way would be to quickly look at BBR's data for the series to see if it matches up (P-M finder for Durant > Set for playoffs only, vs GS only, and keep on Total > sort by PTS > see if team points scored matches with wowy).

That's why this stat has to be taken with a grain of salt. Who you're playing with has the world to do with it. Iguodala uses to enter in the middle of the first quarter and plays until the middle of the second, a lot along the second unit. Klay also plays more with the second unit than Curry and Green do. Of course Curry and Green are the players who give more value overall, but the difference is not as huge as those numbers indicate, because they play together almost all the time, and almost always with the other starters.

Some video evidence from game 6 here regarding Westbrook:

I also remember, for instance, that huge momentum dunk by Livingston in game 7 was due to a very lazy transition defense effort by Westbrook. I'm starting to think Durant may have a case over Westbrook in the POY ballot because their difference in defense impact this series will be a huge factor.

Durant has been playing a lot of early 2nd/4th quarter where Coach Kerr didn't play Green/Curry. That was a big deciding factor.

Well that was a downright embarrassing loss for Cleveland. I don't expect them to pack up and fold at this time, but what I will say is that a team that's struggled in the locker room as much as they have really could fall apart after not too much more of this.

If Igy wins another finals MVP due to the cavs defensive strategies... can we ignore him for top 5 situation, he's clearly been coasting this whole last two RS's only to kill it in the finals, Iggy playing the long con and he is the real power behind the throne Curry sits upon. ;)
