Was that in the back court, off a defensive rebound, with Splitter with them?

Yup.

I thought it was a little weird, but I think it was just CP being CP, cuz he took out Splitter by throwing the ball ahead. I don't think it was anything between CP and Griffin. Paul just stopped in front of Splitter and kinda took him out, allowing Griffin to take it up without someone guarding him.

Wow, i haven't thought about that all post season. Spot on. Could solve 2 issues for them. Could be a small ball 4 for them when Blake sits whilst also playing some wing.

Hawes has been a massive let down.

Will Clips/Spurs game 7 be the best first round game ever played? I can't even remember the last time I was this hyped to watch (okay, maybe just since last year's playoffs  ) But the anticipation for this game is a whole other level.

Considering the razor margins we've seen so far this series, the fact that these are two Finals-caliber teams on paper, and all the drama from the refereeing, hack-a, the Spurs' possible last ride, I honestly can't think of a single first round game with more riding on it.

Or Joe Johnson.

I've thought about this a lot during the season. Pierce is a better catch-and-shoot player than JJ but I feel like Joe would bring a more impactful scoring dynamic to the team. He would divert more of the opposition's attention away from CP3 and Blake and force them to pick their poison.

I don't know if the Clippers would entertain going into the tax for one year (assuming they re-sign DJ) but trading for Joe Johnson could make them a very interesting and dangerous team.

Isn't Ballmer worth $20 billion or some other obscene amount of money? I hope tax isn't an issue for the Clips here or rather moving forward.

I also remember reading that PP was interested in going to the Clips but they didn't make him an offer. If that's true then Doc screwed up royally.

Actually would be a perfect situation. It is sort of like what Oklahoma City is doing, go over the tax this season, then when is the salary cap jumps up you still aren't at risk for the repeater tax.

Yeah, I'm sure Doc's GM responsibilities justify his salary but I don't think the Clips are getting their money's worth.

True, but i think bondom brought up Pierce due to the fact that they had the MLE, they had the Doc connection and Pierce is an LA guy.

Instead, they went after Hawes.

Johnson would fit for sure, but in terms of being able to be acquired, they probably could have had Pierce.

Yeah, I figured that. Also a Nets fan, it was just kinda me dreaming about having Joe and his salary off my team lol.

Yeah, that was the main reason, plus Pierce was tearing up Toronto that night. The Clips need to add a bunch of guys to the bench on lower salary who can still play. Move Hawes/Barnes or Crawford and get back a backup PG, SF, and maybe a big.

OKC vs MEM last year was pretty awesome, too. It's really a shame that Zach got suspended for game 7 in that series.

All of the Western series in the first round last year were pretty incredible, actually. Portland-Houston was very, very tight even though it finished in 6.

Still, we were spoiled with such a great series in San Antonio-LAC. Hoping for more great series along the way.

This was sooooo much better for me, just bc it was less stressful!

Thoughts on the fight?

That was the first I ever watched live and I enjoyed how technical it was. Mayweather's footwork/stage control was phenomenal, he was patient and dictated the pace. Pacquiao looked out of his element and couldn't penetrate the wall at all. Pretty refreshing considering the stigma I always hear is "its a barbaric display".

On the other hand, seems like the general response is that it was boring, that Mayweather didn't box, he just danced and dodged around, played to win and didn't really fight, and lacks the "killer instinct" and "entertainment factor" to be a true "great". I also see a lot of proclaims that Pac should have won because he was the aggressor.

I'm guessing most of this consensus is coming from folks who also just watched for the first time?
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

I'm biased, but 2009 Bulls v Celts was arguably better. 6 overtimes in 7 games in that series. That was an amazing series, even if we didn't win. So many memorable and iconic moments.
