BTW, Barry was nominated 5 spots over Isiah, and that was when more people participated (23 people voted then, in this thread only 13....). I think it should count for something. Maybe even that should be the rule - tie is broken by looking who was nominated first. For sure something like sudden death isn't the best solution.

Noooooo. Then you're just saying the nomination vote is a list vote 10 slots early.

I'm just saying that nomination should break a tie. That's not the same as: "we shouldn't vote at all, just make list based on nominations" ;]

My point is that if the order of nominations can affect the order on the list DIRECTLY, then there's never any pointing in nominating in a different order than you'd put a guy on the list.

Personally, I DO sometimes nominate out of my likely list order, e.g. to get positional balance on the nominee list, or conversely to bring a group of very close guys at the same position on together.

He can't be bothered to post that here?

Anyhow, I applaud your initiative in breaking the deadlock.

Two hours late.

Compromise - How about taking them both to the list, but the earlier nominee gets the higher slot?

Missed the deadline. If not, Isiah and Dominique.

Hey guys,

You should know that Chrome is my browser and RealGM forums stopped for me on that. Been frightfully busy, and so troubleshooting RealGM is not exactly my top priority. However this morning, I tried Firefox, and it's working, and now I'm seeing why ElGee contacted me for my opinion.

And yes, I confirm: Vote - Barry.

I'm fine with whatever our fearless leaders agree upon, but I don't think it makes a lot of sense to be to hardline about the deadline when there are technical difficulties involved.

Lol. This is crazy. For every new Barry, a new Isiah pops up. And vice versa. It was 4 - 4, then 2 folks switched from Payton to make it 5 - 5, and now we have 2 post-deadline votes to make it 6 - 6. So if I'm correct, the count is now:

Barry: 6 votes (TMACFORMVP, ronnymac2, David Stern, therealbig3, ElGee, DocMJ)
Isiah: 6 votes (JordansBulls, Dr Mufasa, drza, Laimbeer, Fencer, Sedale Threatt)
Stockton: 3 votes (mystic bb, FJS, penbeast0)

FWIW I was unable to connect at times last night - got an error message about a server being down that I do not recall seeing before for this site.

What's wrong with putting both on, but giving Barry the higher slot for being nominated sooner?

Oh yeah, and RealGM has been awful for me from my home PC for a couple of weeks now. I had thought something must be wrong with my computer, but is there some kind of browser incompatibility with the site that's messing it up for a lot of people?

I use Mozilla Firefox, I think, and last night was one of the few if any times I have had big difficulties.

Make my vote count for two for the other votes I missed. Problem solved.

Yeah me neither.

Well, the idea behind the format is that by going through each spot one by one, we minimize the chance of a player getting penalized because of his "overlap" with another player. We thus get some of the benefit you get in an instant run off system (with less complexity). Admitting two players at once necessitates losing some of that benefit.

Personally, given the technical difficulties and the fact that we're already half a day past the deadline, seems to me making this vote 3-day one makes sense. If by the end of that time we still have a tie, then it's time for a runoff imho.

Though I would say to beast that if we're truly tied after 3 days and him switching away from Stockton would break the tie, I'm perfectly happy with him doing so.

We need more people to vote. Maybe mods would send PMs to other panel members and we will wait until at least 3 person would answer.

PS
I still think fatal vote from previous thread should count. fatal is pretty consistent and nobody provided strong (if any?) Isiah over Barry arguments so there's no reason to change mind.

I'm on the panel but haven't voted the last two rounds.

If I had to choose between those two I'd go with Isiah.

Up to you guys how you handle it though.

Obviously I can't vote, but one thing I'm a bit surprised about - Pistol Pete has yet to be nominated?
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

All right, since Baller24 didn't sign in today, it looks like we have 3 new votes. First, Sedale for Isiah, second, Doctor MJ for Barry, and third, Snakebites for Isiah. So Isiah is on the list and McGrady has been nominated.

Sorry my friend, but Pistol's nowhere near my radar. Not impressed by him at all. Dude had skills, but also a horribly distorted view of his own ability to make shots compared to teammates (certainly related to how his father trained him). Apologists will say he never had any teammates good enough to pass it to, but the reality is he was drafted on to a team (Atlanta) with an excellent offense that he made worse.
