Re: The Stephen Curry Thread (2015-16 Pt. 2)
I think the Draymond issue is interesting, if only from the POV of people not wanting to respect him because of Steph. Draymond isn't the guy I'd build my offense around, I'll agree to that, but he is so versatile and useful that he was a major component of a 73-win team the year after they won the title, right? He's clearly a star-level complementary player on offense and a wonderful defensive dynamo, really good in his own right.
Steph may be the face of the team and the engine which drives its top-end offensive output, for sure, but Draymond and Iggy and Klay, right? That team is brutal with the breadth of its top-end talent. So brutal, and Dray is better than he was just a year ago, too, which also helps. They're growing together, which is scary.

Re: The Stephen Curry Thread (2015-16 Pt. 2)
They'd be 2-2 right now in the fight of their lives against a so-so Blazer team without Curry. Fortunate that a young Portland squad collapsed on the road with a double digit 4th quarter lead in game 2 or it would be catastrophe. This after splitting 2 games with a rocket team who quit. A healthy Clipper team takes care of this GS squad without much trouble at all. Nothing that has transpired during Curry's absence signifies to me that the Warrior supporting cast minus Steph is nearly as good as some have floated all year. I hear people talking about them as a mid 50s win team which has always been utterly ridiculous to me. Or that they could play with a healthy LAC if Steph missed the series. Come back to earth
It's a terrific cast built perfectly around him, but in his absence they aren't even a tier above Portland, let alone on a level with OKC/lac

Well, no one said they'd clippers or okc
But Portland are a 44 win team who finished the season 27-14
I agree that his supporting cast is overrated at times, but they have done great without him, though personally I think a lot of it was circumstantial on O. Without curry it's still a top 5 defense

I absolutely heard many people say that warriors minus Steph against the clips is a toss up
Golden state without curry is probably better than any team minus their best player save for probably San Antonio minus Kawhi..... So I'm not saying their supporting cast isn't absolutely awesome. But some of the hyperbole about their potential excellence in his absence has always been overboard to me. This isn't a mid 50s win team in his absence who can compete with some west heavyweights... They are a 5 seed and going home in round 1

Actually, there are plenty of people who think that, and I have a friend who swears they would beat the Cavs.

Re: The Stephen Curry Thread (2015-16 Pt. 2)
One of the guys on ESPN "sports reporters" (the Sunday am show ESPN has had for years) said this past weekend that golden state minus curry could still win it all, let alone merely beat the clips. Now obviously he is in he minority in that extreme, and I haven't heard anyone else go that far.... But I did hear many people paint the potential clip series as even money

You've picked wrong game to say that. Curry was amazing tonight, but so was Green, especially with his defense. He contested 25 shots, opponents shot just 1/9 at rim against him... his defense was just as impressive as Curry's scoring, but of course not so fun to watch (I literally laughed after threes Curry made in OT).
Best feeling as a sports fan when all you can do is laugh because what you’re watching is so absurd.

LMAO so true. I honestly dislike the Warriors but I must say I haven't had this much fun rooting against a player since Kobe in his prime. And I never thought I'd say that. Last night is one of those games I'll tell my kids about when they ask me about Steph Curry. That was great.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

1st unanimous MVP ever.
Pay no mind to the battles you've won
It'll take a lot more than rage and muscle
Open your heart and hands, my son
Or you'll never make it over the river

Not Wilt, not Jordan, not Shaq, not Lebron. Pretty crazy.

I had to go through this like 3 times to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Can't believe he did it

id like to say it's well deserved but im having a hard time figuring how can he be a unanimous mvp when there's a guy on his team who's arguably as valuable as he his....i guess flashy scoring trumps everything and that's a shame

on/off and +/- seem to support my opinion too on both sides of the ball to boot

which on/off you are talking about? The on/off which puts Nikola Jokic over Kevin Durant?
