That was a ridiculous month. Thabo was a non factor on offense too aside from the obvious Perkins who was just a large negative. He was playing 3 on 5 on offense that month with his "reliable" offensive players being a sophomore Reggie Jackson and Serge who was still playing the 4 and wasnt posting up, being the roll threat/passer or anywhere resembling an off dribble game like hes shown in Toronto this season. IIRC Kd and Serge formed one of the leagues top pickandpop options that season per Ppp even higher than Westbrook with the bigs when he played. Then they had 40yo Derek Fisher and rookie Jeremy Lamb coming off the bench.....Nick Collison was legit their 3rd or 4th best offensive player in that stretch   no wonder he locked up Mvp after that month it was a foregone conclusion

Yeah, that year OKC was so lacking in offensive depth it was almost comical at times. Ibaka was their 4th best offensive player and he was strictly a pick and pop shooter who couldn't pass to save his life and had stone hands on the move. When they played Thabo and Perkins together in the conference finals for some possessions it was painful to watch, it was 3 on 5 on offense.

Giannis still in 1st for me, I almost flipped but I'm taking him for now. Harden 2nd, then not sure.

I'd put in the running Davis, George, Leonard, Lowry, Embiid, Jokic, and Curry at least. Probably forgetting someone too. I'm probably alone but think Lowry may be 3rd.

First two are miles ahead of everyone imo.

Why is lowry in the second tier and not lebron?

Not only that but 3rd outright seems pretty crazy. Just because of wins? Raptors seem to be able to cover having either lowry or kawhi out of the lineup without any issues. I dunno id put all those guys youve listed clearly over lowry.

He's been leading a team that looks like the runaway out east to me, and Lebron's missed time and his team's barely in the playoffs and he hasn't been as good a two way player. The Raps look flat bad a lot of nights without Lowry, and look like the 2nd best team in the NBA with him It's not just wins, it's wins because of him

Edit: He's 2nd in the NBA in offensive rating when he's on court for guards who've played 30 mpg and 30 games. Only Curry ahead, and when he sits their offense falls 11.9 points per 100. As a point of reference, when Harden sits Houston's falls only 8.7. To me I think I put him in that first tier. He's still a great defender and having that level of impact. Til about a week ago I had him 2nd and think he still can get there.

Was ready to start a thread somewhere. 23/13/3/2, +11.4 on/off and a good defender since the trade. I'm back to debating him vs Jokic again.

He is still frustrating in certain games when he picks up 2 quick fouls. His intensity on the defensive end is what I'm most impressed with at this point.

Gobert is currently recording career bests in points, rebounds, assists, turnovers, PER, WS48 and BPM. He is also leading the league in DBPM for the first time ever and is 2nd in WS48 by only 0.0001 behind Giannis. For the best player on a team that is projected to finish 3rd in the West, Gobert doesn't seem to be getting much recognition. Hopefully he will finally make All Star team this year.

I sure hope so. Not sure if he can finish in POY contention, but not getting an AS nod would be a travesty.

huh, first time since forever that neither Lebron nor Curry are top 2 (it's always debatable, of course)

Incredible. Here we have a player that I recognise as the best in the world, and I still wouldn't want him on my team because then it means I'd have to watch him play LOL

How much of a collapse does Harden have to have after all star break to NOT finish 1st?

Ever since he said he wanted that mvp, he went on a tear beyond belief
