if lebron had been always asked (or wanted) to be a scorer first i wonder if he may have already broken kareem record (or close) by now
this is a guy who peaked in volume scoring at 21 and is having his second best volume year at 37, so i doubt it was about ability as much as about role

He definitely would have. He'd have higher career average PPG than Jordan.

Big Aristotle wrote:Russ needs to develop some more counters to improve his finishing around the rim. Throws it up way too haphazardly and doesn't utilize the glass at proper angles (which is funny because of his penchant to use it on elbow jump shots). Seems unrealistic for him to add a floater to his game at this point though, let's be honest.
I personally think he needs to get rid of that awful bank shot. Simplify the game and just focus on the rim for every shot rather than having some shots where you have a different focus entirely. That must throw out rhythm badly.
He also needs to practice his finishing, he had a lot of easy misses around the basket tonight. he got good enough looks.
Haha yeah no chance on a floater.

i honestly wonder by how much people would be higher on him if he traded assists for points (nothingh is more inmediately eye catching than points)

Re: LeBron James 2021-22 Regular Season Thread - Part ?
I'm starting to think Lebron's improved FT shooting is actually real, he's still shooting a career high 79% from the line. He's had good starts to the season from the line before but I don't think it's ever lasted this long.
It's annoying it took him until his 19th season to finally simplify his routine and just go with one bounce, knee bend, and shoot. His old routine was unnecessarily complicated and it lent itself to way too much variation.
For the general public it would have improved his perception a lot. A lot of casuals have the idea in their heads that passing to open teammates instead of trying to score over multiple players somehow proves you don't have "it", just look at the reaction every time he passes the ball in game winning situations.

I mean THT isn't good for us, mostly b/c of the awful fit, but at least he isn't making 44m
This team has to decide between Russ or THT thought and I don't see a move for Russ this season

They don't have to. They need to trade Westbrook one way or another

somebody in the previous lebron thread - right toward the end of the thread said lebron's shooting had taken a dive. he's shooting better than KD from three. he's about a percentage point behind Steph.

Not trying to pile on but legitimately curious: do you guys think Westbrook is a top 25 PG at this point? Does he contribute to winning more than guys like Schroeder, Cole Anthony, Haliburton, Maxey, Lonzo, Rubio? Ignoring contract, of course.

BUT anyways Russ does IT AGAIN
2-12 shooting etc
meanwhile Rondo goes 6-10 fg [3/3 3pt FG% ] vs Warriors

Probably not. In the ongoing realistic draft project, everyone you've mentioned got drafted before Westbrook except for Schroeder. I did a rough count right after the draft and he was picked in the 50-60 range among guards. I thought there was a chance he might not even get drafted. Pretty much nobody wanted him, and this was with no cap restrictions.
It takes way too much effort to get positive results with current Westbrook.

He's Ben Simmons but without effort plays and defense

Man I want Bron to get 1 more ring but I don’t see how it will ever happen.
It’s sad because 2011 (his only black mark cuz he truly choked) could’ve been an easy ring and then if KD didn’t go to the Warriors like the weenie hut jr he is, who knows how many more he would’ve gotten.
It’s one of the reasons it’s impossible to compare Bron with MJ or any player across eras. Even most (sane) MJ fans would agree that MJ would have no chance in 2017 and 2018 if he was in LeBron’s place.
2016 Warriors are already a much much better team than MJ ever beat imo. Really it’s different eras and everything’s just so hard to compare.
