Nice find. Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Steph doesn't have the juice inside the arc that he did in even recent years, so if Butler's healthy, that's what he'll bring. And it'll let Curry move around and be a pest while focusing primarily on his outside shot.
EDIT: A game like the Lakers game, Butler would have been useful. Steph just could NOT get it done.

This is probably the 3rd best team in the West once Kuminga comes back.

I would love for you to be right but I'd be shocked if that were the case. If you told me we can keep PHX (and SAS) behind us and overtake SAC and DAL to clinch the 8th seed I'd sign right here and now. I do expect the Warriors to win at a higher rate for the rest of the season (health provided) but I definitely do not see us have a W/L% close to 0.65 (Denver's current number) for remaining games.

With his transition into being this PF/PG hybrid with a monstrous FTR after he turned 30, Jimmy Butler might be the best fit for Curry, ever.
An even more natural fit than Durant.

Swinging for the fences.

Re: Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond 24-25 NBA Season Thread
Update after roughly a month and 11 games after Butler's debut:
9-2 W/L, +13.3 NetRtg (3rd in the NBA), 5th in ORTG, 2nd in DRTG
Broken down for each player for a better overview (so some lines are repeated):
Curry, Butler, Green ON: +11.4 (122.9 ORTG, 112.6 DRTG) in 169 Minutes
Curry Butler ON, Green OFF: +19.8 (82.5 ORTG, 62.7 DRTG) in 14 Minutes
Curry, Green ON, Butler OFF: +35.8 (135.6 ORTG, 99.7 DRTG) in 88 Minutes
Curry ON, Green, Butler OFF: +14.3 (133.1 ORTG, 118.9 DRTG) in 84 Minutes
Butler, Green, Curry ON: +11.4 (122.9 ORTG, 112.6 DRTG) in 169 Minutes
Butler, Curry ON, Green OFF: +19.8 (82.5 ORTG, 62.7 DRTG) in 14 Minutes
Butler, Green ON, Curry OFF: +25.3 (122.7 ORTG, 97.4 DRTG) in 69 Minutes
Butler ON, Green, Curry OFF: +3.8 (110.2 ORTG, 106.3 DRTG) in 53 Minutes
Green, Curry, Butler ON: +11.4 (122.9 ORTG, 112.6 DRTG) in 169 Minutes
Green, Curry ON, Butler OFF: +35.8 (135.6 ORTG, 99.7 DRTG) in 88 Minutes
Green, Butler ON, Curry OFF: +25.3 (122.7 ORTG, 97.4 DRTG) in 69 Minutes
Green ON, Butler, Curry OFF: -95.9 (68.5 ORTG, 164.4 DRTG) in 8 Minutes
Compiled from fantasylabs on/off.
Some observations and takeaways (keep in mind the small sample size):
– All line-ups with Curry are successful, including when he plays without both Butler and Green
– Butler-led line-ups without the other two are thus far treading water which is already big for GSW
– Green almost always plays with at least one of the two co-stars while Curry plays the most without them
– Curry and Butler without Green is a line-up combination rarely used as Kerr is clearly staggering these two

For the season, Curry and Green (without Butler) are +7.7 in 882 minutes, and Curry alone is -1.7 in 634 minutes. However, if I add some additional filtering for Wiggins, then solo Curry jumps up to +12.2 in 297 minutes… because Curry with just Wiggins was a horrific -14 in 337 minutes.

If they can get up to the fifth seed then they definitely should win a round. Less sure how they fare against the Nuggets or Lakers, but would not put their odds lower than 40% regardless. Butler and Draymond are reliable playoff risers, and neither opponent has the personnel to comfortably defend Steph.
