Did you count the poll vote? I believe that brings my team up to 3.

Actually, it's 4-2 in your favor. You won the poll, and got votes from trex, ronnymac and lorak. OrlandoTill got votes from Texas Chuck and Owly.

Dr Spaceman wrote:3. Clyde Frazier (5) beats Quotatious (2)

My count says 4-3 in favor of Clyde. I got votes from lorak, AceofSpades and tsherkin. Clyde got votes from Texas Chuck, ronnymac, trex and he won the poll 8-3, so the poll is the only thing that separates our teams. Owly said he was leaning towards Clyde, but didn't clearly say: "I'm voting for Clyde Frazier", so I didn't count it, perhaps you did? Well, it's not like that matters, anyway, because Clyde already has more votes than I do...

Dr Spaceman wrote:6. Theonlyclutch (3) beats LA Bird (2)

It's tied at 3. Texas Chuck and ronnymac voted for theonlyclutch, and he also won the poll. Lorak, 70sFan and trex voted for LA Bird. We're gonna have a sudden death overtime, so to speak, in this one (first eligible judge who casts a vote with an explanation, sways this one in favor of theonlyclutch or LA Bird).

Doctor MJ wrote:So far as I can tell, it's a 3-3 tie heading into overtime. (3-2 Square among official judges, with Doctor MJ taking the poll vote)

I won't be able to post again until this evening, but if overtime means I have to do something else, I'm game.

Yeah, it looks like tsherkin is clearly voting for you, although he didn't say "vote: Doctor MJ", or something that would make it totally obvious. He did, however, say that: "in my head, the advantages on that end are why I chose Doc's team", so it's clear enough.

So, we're going into a sudden death overtime in your matchup, just as theonlyclutch vs LA Bird matchup.

By the way - phenomenal write-up, Doc. Really amazing work. Same for Square, although if I had to pick the best write-up for any team in this entire tournament so far, I would vote for yours.

So how will the voting work for this round and how long do you suppose it will last, Commish?

Thanks Q! A lot of love went into it. I think things like this are awesome because they are more than just a competition...

although I can't deny that I am a competitive guy, and when push comes to shove I tend to shove a little too hard sometimes.

Can we begin voting? If so, when is the deadline to have our votes in by?

I didn't want to step in and say: "stop discussing, start voting", because there was some conversation still going on yesterday in the Doctors' matchup, but yeah, you can vote already.

I want to remind the first round losers that they can vote right now, too.

Assuming the voting is done, here are the tallies

Timmaytime beats Mr. Hibachi 7-1

Clyde Frazier beats theonlyclutch 7-1

Dr. Spaceman beats Doctor MJ 4-1 (I think? that thread is confusing lol)

AustinCarr61 and Eminence are currently tied 4-4

Feel free to check my numbers but I think this is right

Actually, you beat Hibachi 7-0, I don't see a vote for Hibachi (it's an incredible feat, by the way - sweeping a team that has peak Shaq, Kobe and Pau leading them :o ).

Clyde indeed beats theonlyclutch 7-1.

Dr Spaceman vs Doctor MJ seems like 4-1 in favor of Space, although I'm not sure what to make of trex's comments, because he was very active in that thread but didn't make it clear who he was voting for. That was also the only thread where I didn't vote, I just wasn't sure who to vote for.

AustinCarr61 vs eminence is tied at 4, that's right. Need a sudden death vote there.

This is worse than 04. I'm embarrassed. I thought I would have easy sailing to the championship after passing Wilt. :nonono: :nonono:

Not that it matters, but I voted for Hibachi's team. Was surprised to see that one go the other way so heavily.

Hibachi had it. Timmaytime killed him in the wire up though. Went into it thinking he didn't have a chance and voted for him in the end.

First. Voters weren't too high on Walton and they didn't like Nash as a scorer as opposed to a passer (despite his 65 TS% on 19 ppg). I still love my team though and think I probably had the 3rd best one.

Really? But Nash torched pretty much everyone whenever he needed to. And you chose peak Walton right?

I guess I can see some overlap there - Walton's playmaking from the high post is his main asset on O, and Nash kinda takes that away.

But yeah I was really biased towards your team (the allure of Nash+Walton honestly - two of the unluckiest ATG in the top ~40), but I thought Hibachi's and the Curry/Pip/Bosh one were better (that last core is just so, so exceptionally good)

Well actually I decided to use Walton's playmaking while marginalizing Nash's to a degree by focusing on more post play. Nash's style just doesn't mesh with Walton and McHale much. In my mind I figured using a 19 ppg on 65 TS guy as a 2nd option scorer would be more than good enough (I mean he did it well in Dallas). I think I would've done better if I had the same exact minute breakdown but put Christie as my starting SG.

Did we ever get a post on the other semi-final match? Have we just given up? Are there any deadlines?
