Mos_Heat wrote:Any in season Westbrook trade is unrealistic. They need to accept reality and build around what they have. Get 2 wing size players and trade disasters like Bazemore and Jordan in the process. Get Lebron healthy. Maybe fire Vogel. With relatevely healthy Lebron, AD at the 5, 2nd half of the season Westbrook and a group of ok 6'4-6'7 wings they will have a shot at the Finals. They won't be the favorites but at least this season won't be a throw away

Baze has been meh, but role is too big

His jumper is off rn, but shot it well last year

His d has been ok

Needs to cut down on dumb decisions on offense and not try to do too much

DJ has been bad. When we are healthy he should never play

Who are some SGs we can even trade for if we wanted an upgrade?

We don't have many assets. We have a few of our own 2nds, those wiz 2nds, and a bulls 2nd

Don't think we move on from THT unless its clear his jumper isn't here, but then we are trading him low

Nunn and Monk have some value, but I think Nunn should be a good overall fit for us and a guy we want to keep.

I am cool moving Monk, low IQ defender who is lazy and not physical. Can get red hot off the bench, but I am fine w/o that if it means more consistency and effort on D

And then the rest are just salary filler guys

New lineup today:

Westbrook, Bradley, THT, ‘Melo and AD

“I feel like we need to shift a few things … now is the time,” said Vogel.

Vogel expects LeBron back soon, which would shift ‘Melo back to the bench.

Lets see how this goes, sucks that we are out so many guys and we never brought in another wing

Should have brought in Ennis

THT straight into the starting five after all that time off is... interesting. Shows how barren the wings are right now I guess.

If Pop uses the same gameplan from last game Westbrook will destroy them. I have no clue what they were doing guarding him that tight. Tanking games on purpose?

THT with a good jumper is a bit of a minor game changer, especially if he's still as unstoppable at getting to the rim as he was last year (hope he improved his left hand though).

Edit: that's a ridiculous block on that 3 pt attempt lol

AD is laying waste to this Spurs frontline

Both teams feeling their lack of perimeter size in this one.

Without LeBron/Ariza healthy and Melo in the starting line up, Lakers bench is sooo small. Rondo/Ellington, Monk, and Russ right now next to AD. It was previously Bradley before Russ subbed in. Going to keep losing on the board giving up size like this.

I hate how short this team is rn without Bron and Ariza

Even with them we could use 1 more wing imo

Could also try to get an upgrade at the starting 2

Hopefully we can make a trade and find one nice buyout

I pray AD is able to play like this without needing an embarrassing loss beforehand. He was awesome in that quarter.

Losing Ariza on this of all teams is pretty painful.

Looks like Bazemore is completely out of the rotation for this one.

Unpopular but I 100% see why the Lakers like THT. A 3rd (effectively 2nd) year player shouldn't be able to handle the rock with any degree of tempo control. He'll frequently get out of control and throw something wild but I see the potential they're trying to harness. Whether it's worth the opportunity cost is a different topic.

It's so nice having reliable shooters like Ellington, Monk and Melo

Nice and a little unsettling. It's not a familiar feeling.

I thought the inability to create separation on the break to begin with was telling.

At least he's hitting his threes.

Not sure if it's just the Spurs feed dampening crowd noise, but Staples seems dead in this game. Barely even a cheer on that Melo 4 pt play
