Warriors move to 5-2 without Curry this year.

OKC might have constructed a roster that's a dynasty in the making.
They are so good.
They are so good.

A prime Wemby is our only hope of stopping a dominant OKC dynasty.

Re: 2024-25 NBA Season Discussion
OKC has an absurd abundance of talent and draft picks.
As much as I'd like to see it work I'd be more conservative about 'dynasty' talk - something will have to give financially.
Money is going put a lot of pressure on this team when it comes to extensions particularly in a small market. We have seen this story before, whilst it is even more difficult financially than it was back then.
After 2025/26 they will need to ship max rookie extensions to both Jalen and Chet ($41 mill approx) whilst beginning the conversation with SGA on his super max ($62 mill approx).
That is going to necessitate moving or declining team options on some very handy rotation players. It is manageable with the draft assets they possess, but this will be a very top heavy team, that if they keep the trio, will be in all sorts of tax liability - that I think should be a large 'if' for an OKC based team.

Feels like in today's game, teams only get a small sliver of a window before it closes. Ridiculously hard to retain talent and kudos to Presti for recognized that reality. It's remarkable to think that OKC didn't really have to have a significant rebuild after Russ and PG left in 2019.

Re: 2024-25 NBA Season Discussion
This is **** absurd.....................theyre 19-1 w/ Hartensten and we havent even seen Okc w/ both him and Chet yet?

the West doesnt have any Cavs juggernaut for Okc to worry about..........Imo Knicks are prolly better than any other non Okc west team. Bucks, Magic w/ Paolo and Franz and Sixers are wild cards too..............Okc has a much easier path to finals than us Imo................West is wayyyyyyyy deeper than the East w/ good teams but besides Okc the top of the conference isnt that great they should roll
Lakers lowkey could be their toughest test they had their number last season and got better. Reaves ascended and Dfs is a big add. I dont trust most of top West teams to be dangerous come playoff either depth or not true superstar to worry about. Mavs if Luka is back might be only other team they have to worry about

Re: 2024-25 NBA Season Discussion
Random question: what's the most fun-to-watch defensive line-up you can up with right now? I was thinking about how much I enjoy watching Victor but also Dort play defense. Plus I've really appreciated White's defense for a while now and Draymond – as much as I dislike his personality – has been a ton of fun to watch over his career, and he still can bring it when needed and it's glorious. Not sure who to choose to round out this group – maybe Amen Thompson (though I don't follow Houston all that closely) or perhaps Suggs?
White – Suggs/Amen – Dort – Dray – Victor ––– yeah, that seems like a line-up that would be tons of fun to watch (and if you opt for Suggs here, they might even approach average offense).

Caruso is really fun cause he just comes up with random hustle, steals or deflections out of nowhere which swing games momentum

Oh yeah, great call. Completely forgot about him. GPII – when healthy – is another one who fits that bill and is super fun to watch.

Re: 2024-25 NBA Season Discussion
There’s something really cool about seeing this Cavs team develop into … this. I wasn’t much of a Garland believer, but it’s been great seeing him thrive
Sorta feels like a 3 team league right now as far as the top contenders go. Does anybody have a real shot at OKC in the West if they’re healthy? Guess you could hope the supporting cast falls short like they did against Dallas last year, but I dunno the rest of the conference just looks so unthreatening.

Dallas might be the only team that can beat OKC in a 7 game series in the West

Dyson
Amen
Asur
Isaac
Wemby
I dont like watching defenders like Dort and Dray that are allowed to play football out there
