Kinda expected coming off an overtime game on the second night of a back to back, but it's still crushing to see it happen.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Bulls played fantastic today. Outside of that stretch at the beginning of the 4th they took away everyone but Russ and Ibaka long twos. Ibaka shot really well which kept OKC in it but that is about as good of a gameplan as you can execute.

We should make a game out of this: Who's going to be tonight's so-so player to come off the opposing team's bench, shooting 70%+ from the floor, and score 20 points?
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

There is a very small chance OKC misses the playoffs IMO

Pelicans arent ready and the suns dont have the continuity yet
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Thibs out-coached Brooks in the last couple of minutes. He really needs to infuse more creativity in their offensive sets, especially in crunch-time situations. Bad loss, what a waste of a game for the GOAT.

I think NOP may, they'll be tied after tomorrow whenthey beat Boston, and they have an easy schedule to finish. Plus I'm finally worrying about KD.

NOLA just went on a winning streak, got Davis back and has an easy schedule. We, on the other hand, have the 5th toughest schedule in the NBA remaining, no idea when Durant might be back and lost the tiebreaker. NOLA should have a better shot at getting in than us right now.

Yeah, even though I expected the loss, still keeping an eye on the draft.

Just looked: NOLA has 9 games against teams ahead of them in the standings and we have 10. This probably comes right down to the wire and their tiebreaker may screw us.

I am hoping he can pass Harden for the scoring title, not sure if its possible though!

But...but....I've always loved the Brodie :(

Also, I'm waiting for the bad game where the GB starts calling him goatbrick.

Called it.

So without that Portland game in the beginning of the season, he's at 29.7 PTS/36 (29.6 with it). For comparison, Durant last season was at 29.9 PTS/36.

Westbrook Box-Score with Durant Out (19 G)

Code: Select all

MPG    PTS    ORB    DRB    AST    STL    TS%   TOV%    GmSc
34.6   32.8   2.0    5.8    8.8    2.2   .542  .118     25.6

~53.2% AST%
~42.9% USG
115 ORTG
102 DRTG
~36 PER

Westbrook Box-Score with Durant IN (26 G)

Code: Select all

MPG    PTS    ORB    DRB    AST    STL    TS%   TOV%    GmSc
32.9   24.1   2.0    4.8    7.8    2.0   .537  .144     19.2

~41.7% AST%
~34.6% USG
112 ORTG
103 DRTG
~28 PER

*I have removed the games in which Westbrook and Durant got injured altogether (@POR, @GSW).
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

He/the Thunder just haven't learned to close games without Durant yet. Just off the top of my head basically all the losses outside of the season opener against Portland have been by single digits. Most of them by 5 or less points.

Well, they pulled out a W against Philly which I think is the more important thing. No one they can give up a loss to bottom feeders in their predicament. Losing to Portland is understandable.
