Who do you think was the worst player to ever win MVP? Basically, if you were to make a list of the greatest players to ever play the game, which of these players would be at the bottom of your list? Just seeing all the players named MVP, I have to say the NBA voters do a better job of picking the league's MVP than any other sport. Even the worst of the bunch are HOFers or future HOFers. There isn't a single guy on the list that had one great year, won the MVP and was never heard from again.

Just out of these guys? Cowens or Iverson... go back further, there are worse ones. I'll pick Iverson, since the voters should have known better that year.

I don't know who else can be put on that list. Players like Bob Pettit, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain gobbled up most of the MVPs before 1970. Who do you think is worse? Bob Cousy? Willis Reed?

Petit and Cousy both come to mind, there was alot of racism back then... I also don't think much of Unsled's award obviously. Basically Wilt and Russell should have been getting MVP's almost every year for most of their careers... too many times they're not (any being too many). I don't think much of Reed over KAJ either... absurd stuff.

I seem to think less of Petit than some others, but I don't think I have him in my top 50. He played mostly in a different time, and wasn't a transcendent player like Wilt or Bill were.

And I would take Iverson over Dirk or Nash so its one of those two...

Because they don't know enough about Cowens and Unseld to say Iverson is better than them

Iverson is more talented than the lot and more of a first option than Unseld and Cowens for sure but I'd take them all over him for my team without blinking

Wasn't Malone's MVP year a little below par? But if I'd have to vote I'd take Iverson.

The answer is Wes Unseld. I don't want to sound too negative since I love his unique game, but he had no business winning MVP.
