I don't see how this isn't Deron Williams.
Bynum is unimpressive offensively, and his defense isn't all that great either. Deron is one of the best offensive players in the league, and although his defense has been bad the last couple of years, it's not enough to overlook how much better he is offensively.

Yeah no. Bynum's post game is a thing of beauty, his only weaknesses offensively are his range (which he's been working on) and how he handles double teams. Defensively he's pretty lazy, which really holds him back. He could be a great defensive anchor with his length and size, and if he's getting enough touc..uhm, I mean if he's commited, you can see more than just flashes of it.
I'd take Deron as of now, though. He doesn't need to be "fed" to score, and his playmaking is great. He's also proven to be much more efficient if he has decent help on the team.

Deron Williams won what, 22 games in the weak East last season? You would have to construct a special team for Bynum, one does not even include someone like Humphries, for him to win that little.
There's a tendency to overrate guards/wings WAY too much. Quite frankly, I'm not even convinced that Durant is better than Duncan last year(which I'm not sure speaks more to Durant or Duncan). If you watched the two teams closely last year, you'd see that they were very even. If it weren't for the dubious officiating, San Antonio might have won it.
It's clear that the Thunder have the superior role players, so if you break down the star players, clearly someone is overrated.
Impact-wise, to me, Durant = Duncan. The reason San Antonio is equal to OKC is because IMO, Parker is much better than Westbrook. It took Thabo and a ton of goaltendings from Ibaka to slow Parker down, and I don't think he needed help against Westbrook at all. I mean, they switched automatically, but I don't think he needed Danny Green's help at all. Despite all that, he won that matchup anyway(and won the matchup against Paul too).

D Will
His playmaking skills and offense he brings to the table does more for the offense.
Bynum potentally can be better, he will bring more impact to the game than D Will on some nights, but D Will is more consistant

BTW, if you put a guy like Westbrook on a team like the Magic, would anyone ever think playoffs? That's how you know these guys are overrated. With guys like Dwight and Bynum, you expect playoffs(some even think ECF, which I think is a little ambitious), regardless of their supporting cast. With guys like Wiliiams and Westbrook, you expect lottery, and brush it off like it's nothing.

Deron Williams 9.9 times out of 10. I'd take Bynum only if there are multiple other players drawing double teams and spreading the floor for him to get easy buckets in the paint (basically what was happening in LA). Give me Deron Williams in every other situation. 4th best floor general in the league behind Rondo, Nash, and Paul, third best scoring PG behind Rose and Westbrook, probably the strongest PG in the league, one of the better shooters, solid defender, and doesn't really have any glaring flaws in his game. Bynum is much more injury-prone, doesn't seem to care about the game, makes the occasional stupid decision (on or off the court), and his defense isn't terrific for somebody his size. Bynum is going to let down a lot of people this season.

That and he's a black hole offensively. He's a pretty unwilling passer, and he can't handle double teams well, which results in either a TO or a horrible shot over the double team.
There's a reason why LA's offense was worse when he was on the court than when he was on the bench, and there's a reason why he had a negative offensive RAPM value this year.
He's a skilled scorer in the post, but he has pretty low BBIQ, and his skill is overshadowed by his poor shot selection and tendency to turn the ball over when doubled.

Deron, especially with Bynum's lingering knee concerns.

Howard is obviously better than Westbrook, so that doesn't prove anything. Nobody says Westbrook is better.
Put Bynum on the Nets instead of Deron, and they win 15 games. That supporting cast was an absolute joke, and no, I don't expect playoffs with any supporting cast around Bynum. WTH has he proved as a number 1 option that you would automatically expect playoffs with Bynum and a garbage supporting cast? At best, all he's been is the 3rd best player on a 2nd round team that was spoonfed off the defensive attention that the two better players received.

DWill takes this, especially with a Brooklyn-energized line-up this year...

What nonsense. True, Bynum hasn't proven anything as a #1 option, but to say that he's the 3rd best player last year is a joke. The Lakers have Steve Nash, Kobe and Pau and look at how much they're looking toward Howard's return. Quite frankly, without Bynum/Dwight, that team would be fighting to get out of the 1st round this year. Without Bynum last year, there's a good chance they would have missed the playoffs altogether.
As far as making the playoffs by the 76ers, do you want to make a money bet that they will do so? I mean, right now, their only proven player is Holiday, and he's more or less equal to Kris Humphries, and there is a pretty big difference between making the playoffs and a 33% win percentage.
It should be noted that the Nets went 3 and 7(can't find the last one) without Deron.

By every other situation, do you mean adding Dwight Howard to the Nets? Because that's pretty much the only way he can win a championship, so I guess Deron Williams doesn't need much, just an All-Star SG, a starting caliber PF, and an All-Star center(and still no guarantee they'd win). There's no hole in William's game? Yes there is. He doesn't put up dominant numbers, and like most point guards, his defense is no good without a center.
Bynum, on the other hand, has won two championships, and it's not a guarantee that if you subbed him out with Willliams, they would have won the 2nd one. Note that I'm not comparing THAT Bynum with Williams, but rather just pointing out the importance of a center.
Quite frankly, if you watched them carefully last year, Williams' impact is on the level of a guy like Hibbert, and I'm not convinced that it's even that high.
You can also look at it this way, if you replaced Williams with Bynum on the Nets, would they have a chance to make the ECF? Right now, no one even has them doing that, no one reasonable anyway. No guarantee that Bynum's team would get there either, but at least you'd look at them and see they'd have a chance.

Solid defender?

D.Will has always been a net negative on defense. He may be even worse than Nash and CP3>>D. Will in terms of scoring. Lets not go there with that myth. Career wise CP3 has scored on higher volume with much higher efficiency.
As of now D. Will though since I am not sure about Bynum's knees holding up.

since the OP is asking for skill, not injuries, this is Bynum not even close.
reason: bigs > guards

that was a very special team. and it was constructed they year before to tank for the #1 pick. I mean swap dwill and bynum and you have:
Jordan Farmar
Marshon Brooks
Deshawn Stephenson
Kris Humphries
Andrew Bynum
does that team win 10 games? it certainly doesnt win 22 of them. And to point to bynum having won titles, thats just garbage. he played on a great team. he wouldnt have won a title playing on the teams dwill was on those years, or even sniffed one.
He is going to be super exposed as a #1 option this year, and without dominant big on the team.
